Whether it’s breakfast , lunch or evening meal you can’t go wrong here.All the dishes are fresh well presented and offer a good selection with additional specials of the day on the board.The pretty blonde waitress Tamara is always smiling helpful and professional nothing is to much trouble for her. Worth a visit one of Bolton’s best kept secrets . Highly recommend the Friday evenings when the magic man is in attendance to entertain you whilst you eat .

I have regularly visited this restaurant since it opened and have been impressed by the quality of the food, service and ambience. I was really pleased to learn recently that they were doing take aways so I got some pizzas today which were superb especially the house special Napoli pizza! I phoned in about 3.30 pm and collected my order at 5.45pm. A quick and efficient collection fully complying with current regulations and the food was piping hot and fresh. I would encourage anybody to use the take away service here to support this excellent restaurant in difficult times. You will not be dis appointed

Do come here quite a lot since new owners took over a few years ago but did not recognise any to the Staff there today so very impressed at the welcome I received. Being a retired, disabled, Widow, eating alone can be quite an ordeal. Having been isolated for months I decided to go and have a meal here to cheer myself up. Felt very safe here, constant sanitising going on and masks worn by all the Staff. One of the pleasures of going to an Italian eatery like this with great food and caring Staff is the really unnecessary use of the pepper grinder by the handsome young Staff (I always think that Chefs are the best choice when it comes to seasoning). Well, thanks Boris, it seems you have banned that too. I did complain and the Staff humorously said they could do what they could with an empty one!!! Food was excellent and it was a great experience. Thanks. I had the Cod Pizzaiola. Cooked to perfection. Sally, Retired Home Economist.

We ordered a takeaway through just eat tonight. We ordered calzone al forno and payed an extra 50p for chilli which we didn’t receive. The pizza barely had any of the listed fillings other than a mountain of ricotta cheese. The chips and pizza were both practically cold on arrival so we had to reheat in the oven. We also ordered dessert of profiteroles and tiramisu at £4 each, we received only two profiteroles as a portion and a tiramisu which tasted nice but was still frozen in the middle. I don’t usually leave reviews but I’m really disappointed with the standard of food received tonight. My partner and I and our families eat here quite regularly but we will not be ordering take away again! Very disappointed overall.

Take away pizzas mid week. They tasted good but I had stomach ache for hours afterwards and another of our group was ill through the night. I also noticed that on the two occasions that we've had pizza from here I've had a raging thirst throughout the night which tells me that it's over salted to bring out the flavour. Average pizza at best

During the lockdown it was my Mum’s 81st birthday. As we could not be with her (I live outside the UK), I asked Cafe Italia to help deliver a birthday meal for her. They were fantastic and arranged it all at the last minute for me. So she got her birthday dinner and really enjoyed it!!! Great service!!!

I’ve visited this place many times now and it’s consistently good. The menu isn’t too big but the choice is varied and the food is always fresh and flavourful. They cater well for children as well as couples and parties and the staff are always professional and friendly. One of our favourite local restaurants.

I hardly write reviews on trip advisor…if at all, just see my history. But I had to for this place it was outstanding in all respects and it compelled me to say something. From the moment we arrived the customer service was second to none. We came here about six years ago so were expecting a difference. No, there was no difference at all it was the same high standard. Here’s the best thing though - last time the Peroni was only on bottles Now they have it on draught!!! What a turn around and for the good! I was very happy about this and so we did have a few. Next on to the food what can I say the very basic dish aubergine parmagiana they did outstanding. Now, I make this at home to a high standard, but theirs was still better so you know that is what is expected! We also ordered a kids pizza (with sweet corn and red peppers which they accommodated for free), a seafood pizza, the ricotta cannelloni and the king prawn parpadelle. All dishes were outstanding and we were so glad they accommodated the kids choice for free. We ordered some cocktails from the menu which were also good. The head waiter then came to us towards the end and gave us some incredible coffee liqueur shots. He also explained to us that all their food produce is Organic and it is shipped from Italy. Well, we were so happy when he said this it was music to our ears! We try to buy and eat as much organic as we can and it it is the true Italian way of eating so we were mightily impressed with this admission! The quality of the dishes ordered backed this up! This goes for the desserts too as in the cannoli and the Tiramisu is to die for! The covid measures in place were of a very high standard too which was also very reassuring. After so many years coming back here and it being just as excellent and improved I can assure we will now be coming her ever more frequently. You will not be disappointed!

This business doesn’t have an adequate control of its processes. I ordered £128 food on line for a collection ASAP , they deducted the money from my account and then sent me an email saying they weren’t doing deliveries tonight. I called them and they said it was nothing to do with them and they use a 3rd party aggregator site to take orders and I needed to wait a few days for a refund. In this Fay and age this type of customer experience is simply unacceptable, you will not grow a sustainable band repeatable clientele with this approach.

Went on a Saturday lunch at 1pm we did book and glad we did it was quite busy. The staff all lovely and nothing to much trouble they looked a bit perturbed as my son ordered calamari then veg canolloni and never touched it but he has autism and was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of people in the restaurant. We got his to takeout . We had starters, mains and 1 ice cream , 3 beers 6 soft drinks and was just under 100 pound for 5 of us!! Massive portions, of lovely red hot food. Our new go to restaurant could not fault it! Well done 👏 staff.

In Bolton to visit elderly mother who lives nearby. Booked a table as she is in a wheelchair and this was in walking distance. Place was very busy at 6pm but waiter was very helpful in accommodating us. The food was sensational and authentic, honestly the best italian food I've had outside Italy. They were happy to give mum a smaller portion and charged accordingly. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Isn't it great when you find a brilliant restaurant when you're least expecting it.

Booked the function room for my daughters baby shower and it didn't disappoint. The room was a perfect size and we were able to it decorate ourselves. The afternoon tea that was served was fabulous and there was plenty of it, so much so that everyone took home a doggy bag home. The staff were attentive and responsive and when ordering drinks they provided table service and the waitresses were always on hand. The baby shower ran over the book time but we were under no pressure to leave and I would highly recommend booking it for a smaller intimate celebration.

I ordered a gluten free breakfast and reiterated to the member of staff it needed to be gluten free.
It was served to me and the vegetarian ‘sausage’ looked suspiciously NOT gluten free. I asked the waitress if it was gluten free and she replied yes.
I asked her to check, so she reluctantly went to the kitchen, came back and said: ‘oh yeah, we read the ingredients and it’s not gluten free. What do you want me to do? Take it away?’ No apology given.
She took it away then returned with another meal, minus the sausage, no apology.
Nothing taken off the bill.
I definitely would be very apprehensive eating there if you have an allergy.
Zero time/ attention was taken towards it at all.
Many restaurants these days insist that a manager takes the order if someone has an allergy- which gives a level of reassurance. Not here. Won’t be returning

I am disappointed to read that you haven’t had an experience that falls in line with our usual standards. Every piece of feedback is invaluable to us as a small family run business. Our management team are up skilled to support the wider team on allergen advice and as you mention this is to support both colleagues and customers in getting this right as we do normally limit the order taking to the senior team.Therefore I apologise that the colleague wasn’t supported yesterday on your visit. Additionally I have shared this review with the team to ensure the right steps are taking to mitigate and with some new members in the team the additional up skilling takes place.
Once I again I apologise, the centre of our business is having happy customers who return to us, it is why we do what we do.

The best Italian I’ve ever been to! Delicious authentic Italian food, excellent service and a warm, friendly atmosphere. My family and I, including two young children, are always made to feel really welcome (the kids love their smiley face pizzas!). Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at cafe Italia and the food is always tasty and good value for money. Highly recommend a visit!

Having never been here before I really enjoyed a flatbread and fries from the lunch menu - and would like to return to sample an authentic Italian dish!
I've dropped a star as having asked for water for the table - which is tap water if you don't say 'bottled water' - 3 bottle appeared and were opened by the waitress before we had chance to say we wanted tap water. I know it's a first world problem, but I begrudge paying for something that's free.
Other than that it was a nice lunch and I would return.
