We went on a Sunday evening and they have a Sunday deal on which was £17pp for poppadoms with dips, starter, main, rice or chips each. The naan and dips is between 2. This was good value and more food than we thought! The mains were very nice. We got southern garlic balti and bengal balti. I enjoyed the tikka starter. The onion bhaji wasn't as good though. I'd definitely come back again as there was a few mains I wanted to try. Never tried the delivery option but would also consider that.

Great food, great service.

Visited the restaurant last night with my family. I haven't been for a long time but my son and his family enjoy going because it is really good for families. Children of all ages are made very welcome, so we decided to visit on their request. The atmosphere was bustling and the restaurant was very busy but the service was quick and very friendly. There were 6 of us and we all had something different - no complaints from anyone - the food was absolutely delicious - all very reasonable in cost. It's easy to see why it was so popular. Will be visiting again soon.

Three of us called without pre-booking a table. We were greeted by really friendly staff who managed to find us a table even though it was really busy. The food was excellent with good-sized portions and we were given trays to take our left overs home

Group meal just before Christmas

Booked a table a couple of days previous, turned up and it was busy, but luckily we had one of our group running late and it worked out nicely to come back half an hour later. Seated quickly on our return, served drinks quick and food orders taken the same. Drinks came out, id ordered a coke, glass was very warm, straight out of the dishwasher, so ice was well on its way to melting already! Starters came out, all very good, onion bagees were a tad small but very good to eat. Mains very good, hot, lots of flavour but not face melting hot. Overall very reasonably priced meal between 4 of us(30quid each) , good service, nothing to moan about unless im being really picky.

It was my first-time visiting Achari and my partner had been previously. Admittedly we didn’t book and were lucky as a table for 2 was available for us when we arrived. If you are thinking of visiting, I would highly recommend that you book in advance as the restaurant was very busy. We were taken to our table which in my opinion was too close to the other table. I don’t like tables that are too close in restaurants as sometimes I find it hard to have a conversation without feeling like other people dining are listening in. We ordered some poppadum’s to start and chicken samosas. The poppadum’s were fine and came with plenty of different sauces; however, the chicken samosas were very dry and tasteless. Our main courses came pretty quickly after our starters, I ordered king prawn bhuna and my partner order garlic chicken balti. I was really disappointed with my main course, the prawns were not king, they were tiny and there was hardly any in my curry. I also felt that the curry massively lacked flavour. My partner enjoyed his garlic chicken balti. We didn’t order any deserts as we were too full, the bill came and I would say it is good value for money as the portions are a reasonable size. We were given a complementary shot of baileys with the bill which I felt was a nice touch. Overall, I would say the restaurant is average and that some improvements need to be made. I had high hopes for Achari however my food was very tasteless.

We would like you to give us another opportunity as you had high hopes for Achari and gave us mixed review with an average rating. We want you to have a enjoyable evening like the many returning satisfied customers we serve on a daily basis. You are correct in recommending visitors to book in advance as we do get very busy, I would also suggest if coming as a couple to request one of our lovely booth. Regards to the food, We always after serving go round few minutes later asking if everything is okay with the meal, This gives us the opportunity in rectifying the flavours, heat strength, taste etc To the customer satisfaction. We have some Delicious king prawn dishes on the menu with more flavour, taste and texture compared to the Bhuna which we serve as a mild curry, The Chingri Joll, Roshun Goa, king prawn shahslik and the kerala jumbo prawns are full of texture boasting with Flavours. which can be cooked to your heat strength. However we will look into this and make improvements as you have suggested so we can go back to our Excellent, High Standard 5* Quality food full of flavour restaurant. Great menu choice and value, good service, well recommended

Dined here for the first time pre theatre, very popular place with locals which is always a good sign, very good and varied menu, good drinks menu and very competitively priced. The service was attentive and efficient, the quality of the food was excellent, flavoursome and plentiful. Nice place this, and will definitely return.

This is now our go to Indian restaurant. First visited on a recommendation and we were not disappointed and have been back several times since.The food,service and value for money is spot on, they do a special on Sunday which is such good value! No wonder it’s so busy. Curry is my favourite food so absolutely no complaints from me.Hands down the best in Bolton.

Excellent customer service and food

Takeaway! I don’t normally review places but credit where credits due! Following a past mix up with my order (being given the wrong takeaway), I was offered a free takeaway when I next wanted to order which was honoured tonight. The food was delicious and we received an extra free starter. Thank you for your excellent customer service, we’ll be returning again soon and would recommend to anyone looking for a new place to try.

Went yesterday, Mother's Day. Crikey, it was busy even by it's usual standards (and this was 5.00pm on a Sunday). Luckily Ali was in full control and he and his team were their usual charming friendly and efficient selves. Slightly more expensive than usual, but completely acceptable as it was Mother's Day and in any event the food is great value, especially with the offer usually available on a Sunday. Starters were excellent and our main courses of Garlic lamb balti, chicken tikka garlic balti and green Goan chicken curry were outstanding. I have nothing but praise for this place.

Meal for four good value and tasty!

Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Didn't have to wait long for the food and there was a lot of food to share in the meal for four. The starters and popadoms and chutneys were authentic and the mains were tasty and spicy but not too spicy. Would definately eat here again.

We visit quite regularly but this visit was a bit different. The curry tasted as though it wasn't fully mixed and was gritty. Starters were lovely though. Service was very slow even though it was quiet. Asked for the bill a few times and it didn't come. Ended up getting it as we left. We will wait a while before going back but will try again.

We thought we'd try this place as our usual was closed. To say we were very disappointed is an understatement. The lamb korma was watery, along with the southern Indian garlic and chilli lamb, which was swimming in grease and had huge pieces of vegetables in it. Both were also underwhelming in taste, not flavourful, and arrived lukewarm. The garlic naan had no garlic whatsoever and had a weird, sugary coconut crust over it. I couldn't eat it as I am diabetic. The lamb in both dishes was tender and melted in the mouth, and the mixed starter was tasty. Delivery was on time.

How you are the3rd best Indian in Bolton is beyond me. Ordered a takeaway tonight at 17.25 pm and 1.45hours it arrived cold First and last time we will be ordering. Personally I feel you should refund us

We are the BEST because of our Delicious Food and Fantastic Hospitality. That’s why we have awards and a 5* Food Hygiene Rating. Out of all the days in the week, You chose one of the busiest days on the Calendar, Mothers Day, to make your First order. On average on this particular day, majority of the customers waited 2HRS for food Delivery and 1HR for Collection Orders. On a normal day or normal weekend, the times are 45min for delivery and 25min for collection. All our staff were on their toes all night doing their absolute best to get everyone’s food out on time. We were being praised by customers for the hard work everyone put in on that night. I Personally feel we all did Fantastic as this is the ONLY complaint we’ve had online. However, We are sorry you received cold food. Did you ring the restaurant before going on Social? If you didn’t, then please ring the restaurant. Thank you for taking your time to leave us a review. The service was impeccable, had a server called Zaynah this weekend and she was lovely, even though it was busy she catered for us very well and gave us our food and drinks fast. Naeem was also very welcoming and created conversation with us throughout the service. Will definitely be coming back. I had the Chicken korma and it was amazing, if you like a mild curry, this restaurant has nailed it.

Disappointed

II have just returned from a meal we booked, out with a friend midweek. Food was yummy, our waiter was helpful with recommendations, what really let you down was when I asked for the remainder of my meal to ‘take home’ - eyes bigger than by belly - the waiter sighed and then returned to our table with 3 containers and a take away bag and told me to empty my food into the containers. Never have I ever been asked to do this. Your poor customer service let you down .
