Lovely and relaxing

After a day of big wins at the races me and my boyfriend decided to get ourselves a nice bottle a champagne and a lovely beef Wellington. The food and atmosphere was lovely, we have been twice and both times it has been busy. Only small fault was the barman had no idea what champagne he was... read more

We booked a table for two for Sunday lunch. We had the roast beef and the roast pork, the meats were served on top of the vegetables to hide the small portions. Both meals had three small roast potatoes, a small portion of carrots and the winter greens were non-existent. The food was tasty, but the small portions meant we... More

I went to the Dukes Head for the frst time with friends. I had steak pie for my main course and wished I hadn't the pastry was rock hard and the meat tough. I complained to the waiter he went off and came back to tell me I would not be charged. We found the cost of the wine was... More

We went for my friends birthday and had fish starter and rack of lamb. The starters were a few tasteless defrosted prawns on piles of lettuce with a pile of rock hard stale bread and other fish items of which they were ok. We were asked our satisfaction by the waitress and advised her of our dissatisfaction. To our shock... More

We made the mistake of booking in January 2016 having not eaten there for nearly a year. We were meeting friends who live in Sussex and we live in Kent. Before it was obvious by the menu that they had Chefs who could alter and amend the menu for dietary requirements. I should have checked the menu on line before... More

I would recommend this eatery to both families and couples alike. We ate lunch with family here just before Christmas and it was really nice. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The decor is very calming and relaxing. The place is very clean, tidy and tastefully done out. Although it was busy when we arrived we were served... More

Have driven past this pub on many occasions but never been in. Wish I had visited sooner now. Lovely fresh food, plenty of choice and very fair prices. The waiting staff were enthusiastic and friendly, and we were a large table. I can recommend the king prawn and crab linguine, it was beautiful.

Went for a Sunday evening meal after having been recommended this pub. Left stood waiting by the bar without acknowledgment when we entered. We were then told that 5 dishes on the menu were unavailable but this wasn't an issue. 2 of us had the roast chicken. For somewhere that charges premium prices for a Sunday roast it was really... We moved to Copthorne 6 months ago and thought the Dukes Head was fantastic. We ate there nearly every night when we moved in because the cooker wasn't installed then. Since then we believe the standard of food is not as good. My niece went there this week too and was very disappointed. I don't know why it has changed....

My brother organised New Year's Eve 2015 in this "Gastro-pub" (he lives near Crawley) and my husband & I flew over to join the family there. It was well worth the flight..... A very festive setting, warm atmosphere, friendly staff (even though they were rushed off their feet!) and really delicious food - the Beef Wellington was the best I'd... More
