I've never had a bad time here, I must've been visiting for 5 years just-about now. I've seen The Crown really become one of the best in the area, the menu is always changing and brings traditional dishes to the table with modern twists. I've had Kate as my server on most occasions and her and the other staff will... More

The Crown is a superior restaurant in quality, variety and standard of service. Despite the obvious attention to detail, they maintain very respectable prices and always have an interesting menu. The Chef's specials never disappoint and show imagination and sophistication. The garden in the rear is lovely and while modest, can accommodate groups. Highly recommended.

Really good food and generous portions, really traditional gastro food but made freshly to order. The steak and ale pie was amazing, mash was fab, my husband had the trio of sausages which he said was the best he had eaten. Been back now three times, the fish and chips are the best anywhere, also they do take away fish... More

Although it looks a little uninspiring from the outside the interior is warm and friendly. Staff were excellent and the menu was varied and freshly cooked. We shared an antipasti board of hummus, tapenade, olives and pitta to start followed by a homemade burger and a homemade chicken Kiev and Greek salad. All food was fresh and delicious and portions... This was the my 4th or 5th visit to the Crown. Tonight was a real disappointment. Very disorganised young staff; offered a table then asked to leave and come back ' in case it was booked'. Wouldn't even serve drinks or offer space to wait. Extremely amateurish all round. In contrast the 'Prince' across the road was v welcoming and... More

Don' miss the chance to visit this beautifully decorated little village pub. This weekend they covered for 22 hungry parish boundary walkers and 10 or so guests who had walked 14.5 miles earlier that day. The food was plenty and wholesome and the staff were friendly and welcoming. What more could you ask for. Will definitely make a point of... More

We had a very nice evening meal at The Crown in Shrivenham recently. The ambience was nice and cosy and lighting was such that you could easily read the menu. The choice of starters, main course and puddings was good and in addition daily "specials" are available. Service was excellent, unobtrusive and prompt. The young waitress who served us was... More
