Description: Bistro Les Chats is a traditional French bistro where all our dishes are...
Bistro Les Chats is a traditional French bistro where all our dishes are made on the premises with fresh ingredients. We use organic produce where practical and when it tastes the best. Our meat comes mainly from Wiltshire farms, with some specialist items coming from Rungis market in Paris; our chicken is always free range, our eggs are free range organic from Purton House Organics. Fish comes fresh daily, mainly from Cornwall, some from Scotland. Our menu changes monthly to reflect seasonal availability of fresh produce. We also offer a carefully chosen wine selection and range of French beers and ciders. Fixed price lunch and early evening menus are available, as well as a la carte. Reservations are recommended, particularly at weekends, but not always necessary. All our desserts and pastries are made on the premises and celebration cakes and gateaux can be made to order.

Really pleased to hear this place hasn't shut down, every time we've visited we have enjoyed the food and had great conversations with diners around us comparing dishes! Well presented, and a lovely menu.

My friend and I ate here last week. It was going on reviews on Tripadvaior that we chose this restaurant as neither of us are familiar to the area and met somewhere half way between our homes. The food was amazing! We both had the steak, cooked perfectly, incredible béarnaise sauce. I had soup to start which was lovely and... More

Thank you for your review - we are naturally delighted that you enjoyed the food so much and really sorry that your experience was not perfect in terms of service. As it happens, you've hit the nail on the head - I was not able to be front of house that night as I was cooking. Sadly, our chef and... More

We returned to Les Chats on Friday with 'foodie friends' who had not previously eaten there. They loved it as much as we do! Being welcomed back by familiar faces is always great, but we also found a lovely new Venezuelan waitress has joined the fabulous team. Our friends both started with crispy baked eggs; clever & delicious! While we... More

First visit after it was reopened and was not disappointed. The dishes seem slightly more expensive now but the food was amazing as always.

We were pleased to be able to visit for an evening and try out the new tasting menu. We both chose the "Land" menu (noting that we need to get back to work through those for the Sea and Garden as soon as we can). Everything was very good, my favourite was the Ox cheek, but the balance of the... More

Had lunch there just before Christmas and found it a great experience. Nice atmosphere and great food. Very small inside but cosy.

Am a regular customer but this was my first visit to the newly re-opened Les Chats. Not going to drone on...this place has become even better with a newly inspired and wide ranging menu. Had great fun with the staff trying to find a new name for the Creamed Onion dish starter. We thought of 'Naked Onion Tart'! Hope this... More

Finally managed to return for an excellent lunch with friends...since they re-opened. The service was pleasant and helpful as always . The menu has been tweaked and we enjoyed the food immensely. We had booked for Wednesday lunch and just as well.. they were full. For starters ...Pumpkin cappuccino was delicious , as well as the carrot soup with goats... More
