Visited on a Sunday lunchtime whilst out shopping. Service friendly. Food average. Would be happy to call again if passing but probably wouldn't go out of my way to rush back if there where similar places to eat near by. P

Popped in for coffee and cake on a Friday late morning. Not overly busy. Bit disappointing as coffee served with tiny amount of milk which was also off. Coffee and milk both replaced. Daughter had a nice babycinno and cakes were nice. Just got a slight feeling it isn't perhaps as good as it was? Think may be go elsewhere... More

We ordered tea and a panini. My daughter asked if she could have the chicken without the spicy sauce and was told that it was already prepares with it on! Obviously frozen. The paninis were too crusty and flavourless. The cakes did look good and the service was attentive but the food (which is what we went for) was not... More

Dear Loosewheel3, thank you for your comments and I am truly sorry your experience is not what you expected on your visit to The Kitchen. One thing I can tell you is and would like to reassure you or anyone reading this is that we do NOT buy "frozen panins", never will and never have. In fact, I would not... More

I love The Kitchen. Wish they'd put the tea bag in the pot though, rather than serve a pot of water with a tea bag in a sachet.

Dear Rich_Garnett, thank you very much for your review. It gives us great pleasure to see that our customers like what we do. With the tea bags, please just mention it when you;re ordering and we will quite happily put the tea bag in the pot before serving. The only reason we don't do it automatically is because the customers... More

Ok so I am fussy, but this place does simple food, beautiful. Then it does modern dishes that are just great Have either the English brekfast or the modern Brekfast and go for the black pudding sausages, they are stupendous. Dont get me started on the bacon Jam!

I have visited twice now for coffee and cake on a Saturday morning. This café is a lovely little find and my daughter especially likes the hot chocolate. The homemade cakes are fantastic, especially the salted caramel brownie. The last time we visited was the first time when I had seen the reserved signs on the tables. I can understand... More

Keep going back, great coffee and enjoy most of the menu. Recent rewrite of menu is visually not attractive, notes on tables telling you how many can sit at a table is unfriendly. Staff always lovely.

I met a friend who was over from USA and we wanted something nice for breakfast. I took her to the Kitchen and was glad I did. She was very impressed with the food quality and value for money. I was really pleased when, I explained I was Gluten free so would just have scrambled egg and salmon on its... More

A lovely cafe with a great menu selection for lunch. My Gourmet Burger was delightful. Just the right size, not too overpowering as some burgers these days can be. Great country kitchen ambiance. Can recommend highly.

Been here before many times and the place gets better and better. New menu with lots of choice. Wait Staff excellent and quick. Everyone very friendly. I had the Modern Caesar Salad and Mushroom and Mustard Soup. The salad was superb. The boiled egg done to perfection. Not too stiff but soft enough to enjoy some flavoursome yolk. The chicken...
