Visited here with with some friends a few weeks ago - it was a Sunday and although i tend to stay away from the roast dinners (as they are never as good as at home) i decided as our friends were all having it i would roll with it too. I wasn't disappointed - they bring all the meat and... More

Called for cocktails with friends for a birthday celebration , not the best I have to say , no fresh fruit in the cocktails in spite of the description , just filled the glass with soda , so would not call for cocktails again I am afraid ,

This place is quiet and tucked away. A place I have been meaning to try since we stumbled in here on a Saturday night after an awful tapas from a restaurant that has since closed several years ago. Walking into mansion we saw the food being served and regretted ever not knowing about his restaurant. So here we are, a... More

Visited for a hen do for Sunday lunch. It was very quiet however that was great for us as we had a few hen do games to play. We dined from the Sunday set menu, my starter was gorgeous however the beef main was very chewy & not very tasty. Highlight of the day was the magician, bless him his... More

This bar/grill is well located for the station, large hotels and the city centre. The quality of the food is far beyond “pub grub” while the bar appears to be thinly populated on a Monday evening. The menu provides plenty of opportunities for all tastes and I really enjoyed my starter – “CRAB TWO WAYS” which according to the menu... More

Visited Mansion as it is very short walk from the train station in Derby (less than 1 minute). It was very quiet - we were the only customers in at 7pm on a Friday night. 3 pints of lager came to about £15, which isn't exactly cheap, but pints were chilled. Bar was nice inside and seemed clean.

Met up with friends here for lunch as so near the rail station. It was very quiet, although may have been busier earlier. We ate off the 2 courses for £12.95 menu, and the food was very tasty and well presented, but the portions were quite small. There was only one waitress on, and she was friendly and efficient, but... Having a couple of hours between trains, two minutes from the station we found the Mansion Wine Bar. It turned out to be a good choice, good food, good service and reasonably priced. Ideal for lunchtime.

Popped in for a drink and a chat with a friend after a hard days shopping! Unbeknown to us, it was Cocktail Happy Hour!! The drinks were delicious & the service was great. Great value for money, thank you!

Description
Located in the centre of the vibrant city of Derby, Mansion Restaurant and Wine Bar caters to the increasingly selective local clientele, providing fabulous food and wine in a relaxed, stylish setting. Large and spacious, the airy bar-dining room is the perfect all day pick for chilled out lunches, romantic dinners or drinks with friends, food is served from 11am til late, with a 1am license meaning that your evening neednt end abruptly before youre ready. The brasserie menu here at Mansion offers a wide array of unpretentious dishes, ranging from the simplest of snacks to hearty all day breakfasts, picking platters and quick and easy sandwiches and jackets for speedy weekday lunches. However the more refined a la carte menu, overseen by talented chef Lisa Thorley, who trained in Buxton but learnt her trade in top London restaurants, is a focused selection of rich European modern classics made using seasonal and local ingredients wherever possible. Special events include ladies nights, themed music evenings and dances and Saturdays bring with them a decadent champagne breakfast.
