We were just off to look for somewhere to eat and we saw the narrow boat on the quay! Two soups with bread and mint tea restored us nicely and the peace and quiet of the boat itself is like a sanctuary amongst the retail chaos. What more could you need? Well done!

From hungry swans that tap on the windows to dishes that contain ingredients of "blah-de-blah" this is one of the most unique (and friendly) eaterie experiences in Gloucester. Forget the posh nosh and chain eateries elsewhere on the quays and fill yourself up here on some excellent home cooked food - dishes change with each visit - or a range... More

Wandering round the Quays called in for coffee & sandwiches for 4 adults & 3 children. We had a lovely greeting off the owner & made to feel very welcome. It only does basic but with very good ingredients which makes all the difference.

Brilliant, fun and surprisingly easy to get on and off (I'm over 60, over weight with dodgy knees!) You may be asked to change your choice of seating as the barge needs t to be kept as level as possible. This only started everyone giggling when I commented that I had never realised I could be useful as balast! Staff very... More

Popped in today with my mam and boyfriend; after being recommended. the food was lovely and the host was even lovelier. We had an amazing soup, curry and nachos we all ready enjoyed everything and really appreciated the friendly homely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend. Very cute and unique and the price was very reasonable for four drinks and three home... More

In Gloucester for the day and visiting the Victorian Christmas Fayre we chanced upon the Cafe in what proved to be an excellent choice. A novel setting on board the Barge, with hot drinks and a small but very good light meal choice, all presided over by the very welcoming and efficient lady host. The intimate size of the barge... We came upon the Café on the cut purely by chance whilst shopping @ Gloucester Quays. We spent a thoroughly enjoyable hour on-board. We ordered a pot of Tea and Nachos, both of which were delicious. We had a lovely conversation with the lady who served us and some of the other people who were dinning. Finished off the meal... More

What a lovely experience, a warm welcome, a nice cuppa and even better the cake was to die for. An oasis of calm on a busy weekend. Vanessa the owner works so hard and how she remains so happy no matter what time you call is amazing. Her narrow boat is immaculately kept. Well done and we look forward to... More

My friend Kim and I were strolling around Gloucester Docks and stumbled across this little gem on our way to the designer outlet. It's a proper narrow boat and we couldn't resist stopping for tea and cake. As we entered the boat, two other customers came down the steps too. It was almost closing time but the delightful owner made... More
