Having never had a decent curry in the previous "Jewel In The Crown" I was a tad apprehensive when told this is where we would be eating, but the meal I had was absolutely superb and would definitely go again. Staff were friendly and attentive, booked us a taxi when we wanted to leave too, though that said it wasn't... More

I regularly used this restaurant when it was The Jewel in the Crown. It now has new owners & has be re-named Tamarind. I reserved a table & arrived 10 minutes early, only to be informed they had allocated my table to someone else & I would need to wait at least 45 minutes. What's the point of booking if... More

Called in at random during an evening out in Gloucester while visiting a friend in the area, and came away more than happy. The menu contains some unique items as well as the standard fare, and I took the opportunity to sample a dish new to me based on red peppers and cheese. I can't remember the name of it... More

We went here after a Gloucester rugby game & whilst the food was not bad @ all, the service/amount of time for the food to come out was terrible. Other groups left the restaurant things were taking so long. When asked the reasons, all I got was its a normal busy Saturday. If that is normal people should not go... More

We ate here on the evening of Wednesday 7th May, my meal wasn't great but my two friends both liked their meals. When it came to paying we tried to pay using a debit card but, due to their card machine problems (so we were told), the transaction came out void. We then paid in cash £40 instead of £41.25.... I have eaten at this restaurant on my occasions and never had a poor meal. The food is of the highest quality and very well priced. The staff are excellent and will guide you on the best choice for you, such as hot or mild. I have tried all the restaurants in Gloucester and this is my favourite. If you... More
