Back by popular demand we ate here for our Christmas get together - always after the event to avoid the dreaded Christmas menus everywhere! We stayed at the White Hart over the road and meandered over to the Drum and Monkey for our meal. Fantastic mussels in cream, garlic and wine followed by my very favourite Lobster Thermidor. £28.50 for... More

Sophisticated elegant atmosphere. Great food. Good wine list. Good service. Excellent location. The best Seafood, if not the best restaurant in Harrogate.

Great traditional restaurant. Makes a change from all 'chains' filling Harrogate. There is a set 2 course lunch/early bird menu at great value and enough choice for everyone. We opted for the pint of prawns to share and forwent starters. A huge choice of fish, seafood hot or cold, and seasonal specials. We had sea bass, sea trout, fish pie... More

In amongst all the chain eateries now opening in Harrogate, this place is a safe bet and a true nod to independent businesses, which we are so keen to keep supporting! We were there as a party of 15 and the food and the service was superb. The fish pie comes highly recommended and was a favourite, but none of... More

We are a couple who love Harrogate... and one of our great pleasures when staying there is a visit to The Sportsman in nearby Wath, so when we heard that the same people had taken over the famous Drum and Monkey eaterie, we decided to give it a go. It is a lttle bit small and tight but... there's upstairs... More

Found this restaurant by chance on the way back to our hotel, wanted lunch, but it looked very busy, checked and they had a table available, had a two course lunch for £18.00, both had the prawn cocktail - difficult to get wrong, but was really nice, however saw other diners have the fish soup and in hindsight it looked... I am genuinely baffled by the positive reviews this place has had. We booked a table for lunch for 1.45 and were met with obvious disapproval when we arrived 10 minutes late, hardly a warm welcome. We both ordered fish fish was was inedible and we sent it back. It was as if the soup had run out and the... More

I like the idea of a fish restaurant but the menu was a little unispirational. I had a starter and a main and left hungry, the portion size was quite small - quite expensive. A cosy interior makes the seating a little cramped. I think there should be more emphasis on what is fresh on that day, rather than sticking... More

We (party of 7) have frequented this restaurant every time we come back to Harrogate. This recent visit was to celebrate my mother's birthday. The chef (Gavin) has made some great changes to the menu. The Dover Sole was perfect. The starters were all very good. Service was spot on and they were very attentive to a food allergy at... More
