Fantastic food, great service. Went for the sparkling wine and seafood tasting menu. Wonderful combinations, enough to eat without feeling stuffed for both myself and my wife. Great explanation of why a particular sparkling wine goes with each course. Recommended.

This was a nice meal - but not great. We went for lunch. Light snacks were really tasty, and mains were good, except for ham and eggs, which we ordered for my son. We didn't think the ham was good at all. Would I go back again... no. But would say to anyone that's its a good place to eat.... More

Came here for an evening meal. We had to wait around 45 mins for our mains following our starter. When the mains did come out we weren't too impressed with the meals, they were average. By 5am my husband was violently ill, vomiting with diarrhoea. This went on for 2 whole days and the doctor was positive it was food... More

Lovely location, food excellent but dishes unnecessarily complicated with added ingredients. Expensive for a pub restaurant. No gratuities on cards only cash

We found this pub in the good food guide. Normally this guide never let us down as all their scores and descriptions meet the expectations. This is the first time when it did not correspond the reality. The maximum score for cooking should be 2, not 6. Their steaks were just not tasty, salad's dressing is only vinegar, all these... This lovely restaurant is a bit further away than we usually like to travel for dinner but it was well worth it. The staff are very friendly and our waiter was knowledgeable about wine to go with my selection. (My husband drove🙂) The hand-cooked crisps and delicious sourdough kept us quiet while waiting for our starters. The ham hock and... More

When you see chefs on television talking about garnishes and powders and pickled this that and the other, you tend to think, really!! But after eating at the Pony and Trap last night, I now get it. Everything that was on my plate completely complemented and heightened the overall dish, it was sublime. The whole evening was relaxed, with friendly... More

A friend from Bristol brought me here for dinner as it is situated in the glorious green English countryside halfway between Bristol and Bath. Creative culinary choices. I chose steak tartare and the pigeon breast with walnuts and apple. Food and service as it should be in an inviting atmosphere with good wines to compliment. I felt so treated by... More

I suppose that the problem with accolades is that they grow expectations accordingly. If I had gone to Pony & Trap without any knowledge of the place I would probably have though it was a really good meal. However knowing that they hold a Michelin star and all the noise around Josh Eggleton being on Great British Menu, you go... More

Our second visit to The Pony & Trap, this time for Sunday lunch with friends. Food was superb our friend said the pork crackling was the best he had ever had! Service impeccable as ever, can't wait to go back again.
