Whenever I am in Wicklow I love dropping in here for their excellent coffee and cakes. Enjoyed lunch special on my last visit and it was delicious and very good value. Staff are very friendly and helpful!

I was interested when I saw that this little restaurant was advertising Asian Street Food. Suffice to say that it was a very westernised version of street food! Service and helpings were good, but the food lacked spices and the Sri Lankan dish I chose bore little resemblance to any food I have eaten in any of the regions of... More

Hi Dee Thank you for sharing your opinion about your dining experience, I do agree that it was a bit westernised, if not how on earth can you eat street food sitting down in a restaurant. What we intend doing was just give the customers a feel of what asian street food is like with the ingredients available in a... More

We've accidentally found this hidden gem when heading down to the Wicklow Pier. Both me and my dearest felt kinda peckish, and so we went in for savory nibble. That was only a start as we got ourselves into full blown lunch extravaganza!!! We both started with a creamy chowder which contained more fish than Irish sea could provide Than..a... More

Did not manage to make eye contact with staff. I really dislike if you have a make a big effort to get attention for service. No one asked how it was like or if I wanted any more of anything. Food was ok, I had seafood chowder. Has a dark and uninviting appearance from the outside. Friendlier service would make... More

Dear Ursula I am sorry about our average performance on the day you visited, we were in the process of training new staff who just started to work for the very first time, and obviously they were nervous. This is not an excuse but I am just stating the reason for your comments. The cafe has been operating for the... More

Have had two lovely meals in Halpins, the first as part of family group of 7. We tried everything on the menu and each dish was as good as the other. My husband and I returned a few weeks later and enjoyed the second experience just as much. Don't think the locals know about the evening options. Perhaps you need... More

Visited on a whim Saturday evening. Really good food, excellent service and very reasonable prices. Menu a bit limited, but what we had was really good and filling.

So busy reviewing other establishments my daughter reminded me to review my home away from home coffee haunt. Friendly staff who get all my coffee and food quirks, Friendly owner/manager I delight in supporting, It's like reviewing your own family. I appreciate my consistently good mocha, availability of a paper to go with and when I'm hungry a decent sandwich... More

My better half and I visited this Cafe for a morning sojourn. Coffee was good, pastries were good, but OMG what an owner/manager. This male, who said he was a partner in the business came to our table enquiringl re our satisfaction with our visit. He then set off on a disgusting rant, putting down in the most aggressive manner,... More

Pleasant enough as a place, if a little cramped, and the staff are nice. The food, however, is lacklustre. They unironically put crisps on my plate as part of a lunch meal(!) which is pretty offensive. There are numerous better places to get lunch in Wicklow town, and offering better bang for your buck. I'd give it a miss, unless... More

Dear TheNiallF First let me thank you for taking the time to review us. By saying that our food is lacklustre I presume you mean its dull and uninspiring. It is unfortunate that you feel this way as I am trying to wonder myself how you came to this assumption as we have a huge selection on our menu including... More

Always pleased with this cafe. Staff are friendly and very reasonably priced menu. It is nothing spectacular but perfectly quaint.
