This cafe set in a wonderful old restored barn was a hidden gem discovered on our way back from Tintern Abbey to Wexford. I say " hidden" as the signposting is really bad - signs low down snd overgrown by grass BUT Murphys Barn is well worth finding. Served by friendly local staff our order of tea and toasted sandwiches arrived promptly. The selection of sweet dessert was very tempting too but our toasties were big enough to satisfy our hunger. Along with large pot of tea, hot water and just for atmosphere a wandering hen this visit was a most welcome sojourn.
Spotless bathroom, beautiful views, friendly staff and delicious food.

I visited Murphys Barn during a trip to wexford on the recommendation of our Airbnb host and it didn't disappoint, we were 2 adults, 2 kids 15&13 and our dog.
We had lunch in the wonderful wild surroundings with goats and chickens roaming free. The food was very reasonable in price and exceptional quality. The staff were brilliant and Sinead was happy to chat with us for ages and share her local knowledge which was really helpful. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Wexford and a great place if you have your pet with you.

I was looking for somewhere to have lunch & called into Murphy’s Barn. Ample free parking. I was given a warm welcome by the friendly woman behind the counter. There wasn’t a huge choice of hot food so I opted for chicken & vegetable soup. My meal was brought to my table upstairs in the “barn”. The Beatrix Potter theme was a bit twee but I thoroughly enjoyed my delicious soup with 3 generous slices of brown soda bread. Would be lovely to sit out in their garden when better weather comes.

If i could hide Murphys Barn from the tourists gead8ng down to Duncannon and Fethard I would. Actually I'm thinking of discussing a ban with the owner re those from beyond South Wexford. This would include anybody the north side of Oylegate
The reason, sometimes it is nice for locals to keep these wee gems to ourselves. Fortunately for Siobhan and her staff the news has broke. Unfortunately for us locals though who fell 8n love with this wee gorgeous Barn of a place. There is nothing not to like here. And if you like a cheesecake you will die at what is in offer here. Nothing fancy small menu but nothing wrong with that. They know their strengths and keep it fresh, simple and wholesome. So no longer a hidden gem but do pay a visit and enjoy the rural simplicity of here with a host who if they have the time enjoys nothing more than chatting to the customers about the local menagerie of hens ducks wee goat and her bees that roam and buzz happily around the back garden where one can sit and take in the simplicity of the place

2nd time to visit on another glorious day. Very friendly staff, good selection of cakes.
Sat outside in the beautiful garden with wonderful views to Saltee islands.
Plenty of hens running around and ‘Harry’ the Cockrel. Lovely that dogs allowed.
Very nicely presented cakes and coffee which were gorgeous. Toasted sandwiches looked lovely - will try next time. Reasonably priced. Lovely artwork, cards on sale too.
