For a few days in December the Hollow became our local. There were things we really liked; food in the restaurant was generally good home cooking, (although the portions are so huge it's verging on comedy), the restaurant waitresses are friendly, and they even offer a 'drive you home' service if you wish to have a drink or two. The... More

I have often eaten dinner at the Hollow but only recently had lunch for the first time. A single course meal was more than sufficient and my choice was mussels in a cream sauce. The mussels were small which usually, in my experience, means dry and tough but this large dish was beautifully cooked with each mussel lovely and juicy... More

Went for lunch for the first time today. I had the sea food platter. WOW is all I can say. There were 7 different types of fish on the plate. The fries were made from real potatoes and had the skins still on. To be honest it was to much for me and I would suggest you get one platter... More

The food here was really superb, unfortunately the service was extremely slow and intermittent. The staff seemed a little disorganised also....Wonderful place if they could get their act together

We pulled in on the spur of the moment, they weren't busy so we had a great meal and enjoyable conversation with our server. We devoured a great dish of scallops and some spicy curry. Both dishes were great plus sitting out in the sun was the best.

Stopped at The Hollow Bar while visiting the Hook head area during the Summer months and was very impressed. Lovely ambiance in a beautiful refurnished dining room, really lovely genuine staff and delicious well presented food, so much choice but I opted for the cod and it was devine, Half portions available for most dishes too which is a nice... Four of us visited this establishment on a Sunday evening. We had not booked a table but we were given a table in the bar rather than the restaurant. This was fine by us and we were given menus. Time passed, as did the gentleman in charge on several occasions. Finally we called a waitress and placed our order, which... More

I recently had dinner here with friends. This is not my first time at the Hollow and as usual I had very good meal. Garlic prawns followed by gougons of monkfish fish vegetables and chips with tart and cream to finish. All good with friendly and speedy service. All told this resteraunt, famous for fish, is worth a visit.

Description
The Hollow Seafood and Steakhouse restaurant has worked hard to earn an outstanding reputation for serving the freshest, top quality food, all locally sourced and prepared to the highest of standards. Our seafood is collected fresh from Duncannon and Kilmore Quay and our beef is locally reared.
Our menu is designed daily to make the most of the best in-season produce. As well as an extensive restaurant menu served from from 12pm to 9pm each day, we also provide snacks, sandwiches and childrens meals. We also cater for vegetarians, vegans and coeliacs on request. Our restaurant is so cosy and inviting that sometimes we can get quite busy, so it's a good idea to call ahead for the busier lunch and evening periods.
