We try to stop here every time we are in the area. The lovely dark wooden decor makes you feel like you are in an old wooden ship. My favorite is the lamb stew - OUTSTANDING!!! Staff is super friendly and fast. You'll be glad you stopped.

Great food but book as it gets very busy, as it is very popular. The Helm is in a nice spot Westport Quays, so great to visit after a nice walk. Good selection of food and at a reasonable price, as eating out in Ireland is generally more expensive than the UK.

We had lunch in this love friendly restaurant today in a large group where I have to say the menu was good, staff friendly and food of a good quality and great value At the end we were all given a free club milk with our coffee which is a great touch and my first time experiencing it. Great experience... More

The Helm never fails to satisfy . Along established menu plus specials offers the widest range of fresh local sea produce in the area . Crab, lobster, mussels, oysters, sole, monkfish, turbot, cod etc., not to mention first rate steaks, duck and lamb. Despite increased local competition it continues to thrive seven days a week whereas the more trendy only... More

Would recommend a few pints and a bite to eat in here. Always a few people in even on a cold November day and the staff were great, very attentive. Went in on two occasions, one for beers only and they had a good selection. The other time for food which was very nice, especially the mussels, and the service... More

Main - One of the best Fillet Steaks I've had in a long time. Starter - get the Seafood Chowder. To die for! Relaxed gastro pub - ideal for a large group. Agreeable wine menu.

Based on the trip advisor reviews, I had expected more from The Helm. The food was good, not great. I had calamari for starters, it was quite well cooked but there was only 3 calamari in the dish. I had monkfish for the main course, it was quite tasty but I just expected more. Also for pub grub, it's very... More

Food fabulous had Steaks and Chicken served with a great variety of Fresh Vegetables and chips. Which we all enjoyed. They have a great choice of food on their Menu's. Staff are very fast and helpful.. No visit to Westport is complete without dining in The Helm..
