I was holidaying in Killarney on saint Patrick's day and was really looking forward to treating myself to an ice cream in Murphys as I heard so much about it!!! Well I can tell you I won't be going back as it is a complete rip off!!! I ordered a large ice cream which at a cost of €8 I... More

Hi there, Martin. I'm so sorry you didn't find value in our So Specials. They are a new offer that we introduced last year to offer something a bit more varied than just ice cream, and they have proven very popular. Perhaps we didn't make it to standard. I'm also sorry you didn't find the response of the team acceptable.... More

Such friendly staff and they are more than willing to let you taste every single flavor in order for you to find your favourite! Really good banter to be had too. This is going to become my go-to place in Killarney without doubt!! The ice cream itself is delicious too, incredibly creamy and with some unusual flavours to experiment with... More

What's better than a free taster? Well getting a full scoop on a cone of course the only problem at Murphy's was which one to choose so I had both of my favourites, the ice cream is beautiful and a must if you are visiting the town

Murphys is a lovely building with very nice employees. the ice cream is to die for and you can also have a few testers which adds to your experience. I had a desert, i think it was a brown bread ice-cream with caramel sauce and cream. it just melted in your mouth perfectly. The whole experience was lovely but it... More

My husband & I passed by the parlour & was offered ice-cream so we asked if they catered for vegans & were told there are 2 sorbets (raspberry & chocolate) available. Availed of free taste & decided to return for 2 cones. The guy at the door was friendly. The girl at the counter was friendly (and vegan we were... More

I went into Murphys Ice Cream with my children and shortly after purchasing Ice Creams my youngest left his fall outside the shop. Within seconds the man inside had come out with another Ice Cream for him which I thought was great. Meantime, I was looking for something to pick up the Ice cream off the pavement and in a... More

In Kenmare they charge €4 for two small scoops of Ice Cream. In Killarney they now charge €5.50 for the same. I would gladly pay €4 for two scoops of a really unique ice cream. The Murphys Ice Cream is nice but nothing special, certainly not unique, it tastes like any of the generic national and global brands. I believe... More

Murcada, Owner at Murphys Ice Cream, responded to this review

Hi there, Byrno I'm not sure what happened with the price, since a small ice cream at Murphy's is €4.50, not €5.50. I apologise if there was any mix up. I'm also sorry you didn't find any difference with our ice cream, since almost everything we do at Murphy's is to try to make our ice cream unique and extra... More

Staff was very friendly and chatty. They allowed us to try all the flavours for free and we decided the raspberry sorbet was beautiful and refreshing, dairy free too. The butterscotch was very tasty and the sea salt ice cream was amazing! Definitely stop by for a nice I've cream tasting

Murphys ice cream is the best. With so many different flavours to choose from its hard not to have a bit of everything.

Murphys makes all of its own ice cream from scratch in Co. Kerry, using milk from the rare Kerry Cow breed and hand-made craft. Murphys makes its own sea salt for their sea salt ice cream and even make their own chocolate chips. They also serve coffees and a delicious range of hot chocolates.
