We had a good meal here, but our server told us it had been a busy day, and perhaps that is why our experience was good but not a standout. The interior had a different charm than our other two pub experiences in this village.

Nice place to drink or eat especially outside if warm enough. Very popular with tourists and locals.

I really wanted to review the inn's accommodation, not its restaurant. Though we had breakfast, we had no other meals. The service was great: they made room for our bikes and helped us leave town on schedule. The location is excellent: right across the road from a grocery store and gift shop. The room is newly modern with access to... More

Watching rugby with the really sweet and friendly locals was a highlight of our trip and to top it off there were 2 great musicians (2 sets) playing after the game. The fish chowder was delicious. Salmon yummy. Staff attentive, service quick.

We went for dinner here around the same time as a big party of people were celebrating an event. The staff were a little preoccupied and service was at first none. But as soon as we requested to actually order food (we had been sitting waiting with the menus for a little time)it was relatively fast and friendly. The food... More

My wife, son and I visited here because we were nearby around lunchtime. I must say the Seafood Chowder is the best I've had yet. All main courses were not overloaded but pleasantly filling. Only downside is the waitress service is much to be desired. No fresh cutlery supplied after starters, several requests for drinks as had not originally received... More

While in Oughterard recently,we found ourselves looking for somewhere to eat for Sunday dinner. We popped into the Boat Inn, it was very popular with the locals and was quite busy. We found a table and were served a refreshment almost immediately. We ordered our dinner which was pleasantly served by the lovely Ellen. (Who reminded me of a friend... More

We went here for lunch. Food was good and a fair price. The service was excellent and the waitresses were very friendly. They accommodated our 1.5 year old with a child seat and a free scoop of ice cream. Would definitely recommend swinging in if you're in the area.

Loads of gluten free options, chips are done in separate fryers so happy days for all us coeliacs. Really child friendly, our little fella (3year old) threw a tantrum and the staff arrived within seconds with toys for him. I will most certainly be back!!!
