Great place for night life

This is a great bar for having a few drinks and a laugh with your friends even if not eating here. Always music or something going on in this bar and the atmosphere is buzzing. Can get a real feel of the real Galway just by walking in the doors as you can meet the long time Galwegian supping a... read more

The Quays Restaurant is located in the Quays Bar downstairs. The staff will serve you anywhere in the bar which is one of the coolest bars in Galway. Homemade soups are great, lunch/dinners are also great and they always have fresh oysters to go with your pints. I am in Galway often and is the first place I go for... More

Took advantage of the recommendation to go here while staying at the Westwood Hotel. The atmosphere was fantastic. Band was great and everyone singing along.

The Quays is definitely one of the coolest pubs I have been to. The layout is, as others have said, a bit of a maze, but I think it totally adds to the charm of the place. I visited Galway on a study abroad trip and a couple of friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our multiple visits here. We even... More

When I asked the waitress what one of the dishes was, she gave me wrong information about it. Seafood cocktail should have been called pasta salad with a ball of disgusting mushed up canned fish (or was that even canned fish?!). Seafood chowder extremely average. Sirloin steak massively overpriced for... something that didn't taste like sirloin steak at all. Tough... More

Really bad Sunday lunch. Nice staff, awful food. When I ordered chicken and vegetable curry (description on the menu), I certaintly didn't expect strips of hard turnip, large half cooked slices of onion, completely tasteless chicken, rice sprinked with parsley and paprica. It was like a dish from the bad old days of Irish food - hard to believe that... More

So we got sucked in with the freshly shucked oyster sign and they were expensive but good! My seafood chowder however was not and some other meals were described as OK to poor. No wonder there weren't any other diners here during the lunch service. You need to sort out your kitchen and revamp the recipes on the menu!

Food here was not edible. We ordered the steak and Guinness stew. It was like slop, 5pieces of steak meat which were tiny and like rubber, vegetables were awful, roast potatoes had been reheated and were chewy. Only bit we could eat was the mash! Def wouldn't recommend or return for food

Service was okay. Avoid the food. Seafood salad for starter was a plate with a ball of processed crab meat and tonnes of dressing with bits of salad. "Traditional" fish and chips was more of a giant fish finger (which included bones). Plate was half filled with overdressed salad again. Mash potato with the roast was stale and stuffing was...
