Visited this restaurant about 20 minutes drive from Dublin city with a business colleague while in Dublin on business. This is a small local restaurant which seems to be geared towards local residents so an ideal way for a family visit or casual business meeting. The menu and wine list provided sufficient options and given the speciality is seafood we... More

On September 23, 2016, I was in a business trip with my husband and a co-worker, and we went to Cavistons Seafood Restaurant without any reservation. There were no seats at the time so we decided to leave. When we were outside the restaurant, this gentleman came to us and offered us to stay because he could try to find... More

Food here is absolutely stunning and the atmosphere is equally as good. It may seem on the pricier side but the portions are extremely generous and the food is so good that it's absolutely worth every single penny. Service also absolutely lovely.

A bit outside Dublin actually, but well worth the trip. Our starter of scallops and chorizo was fabulous. The hake that followed was equally good. Very good service, and almost too fast, if such a thing exists. The only thing we were not so happy with where the desserts. The bread and butter pudding was slightly bland and the berry... More

Went here last Thursday Lovely little place, friendly staff We had the crab claws and fish cakes to start and then the John Dorey with muscles and clams for main. It was all excellent but the crab claws stole the show. Easily one of the best seafood dishes I've ever eaten and definitely the best crab. We will be back.... More

This restaurant could be just fantastic if only they didn't over cook the fish so much. As they are a fish restaurant they really should know how to cook fish better, there is more to cooking fish then just grilling it till its dry, the secret to cooking fish is to know when to stop cooking it. Unfortunately the chef... More

Glasthule Village is a place to discover whether for shopping or dining-out. With Cavistons you can do both. If you fancy "Fresh Fish" you have a great selection here to either 'dine on' or purchase to take home for home cooking.

Small restaurant, friendly staff, delicious delicious food, good wine list. Love the old world charm of this small dining room. Would have liked to be in the company of younger people but that is not to take away from the taste of the prawn and lobster starter which was melt-in-the-mouth delicious. Will definitely be back
