Great place to spend an evening when in Dublin. The band and dancers are very good and very talented at getting the audience to participate. The food was excellent and served by very friendly and professional staff. I must say I was impressed by the speed so many diners were served and cleared away in time for the entertainment. All... I want to give this place 5 Stars! It perfect in every way. EXCEPT for one big problem. The service. I've visited it now about 6 times and finally had to ask why the service is so BROKEN. Here's how it works; DRINKS - You can ONLY order drinks from the bar counter. Not from any other staff member. Even... More

While staying in Dublin with a Collette tour, we attended the dinner show at The Merry Ploughboy. The shank of lamb was excellent with the meat falling off the bone (the best I had in Ireland). The show of traditional Irish dance was outstanding! The band played many traditional Irish songs with much audience participation. The gentleman playing of the... More

We went for a family walk in the woods on Cruagh Road in the Dublin Mountains on Sunday morning and decided to have lunch in The Merry Ploughboy on the way home. We were lucky to arrive early enough to get a table - by about 2pm it was filling up fast. The atmosphere in the pub is very good... More

Was taken out for the evening - downstairs pub upstairs large dining room and stage. Had a lovely 3 course meal and smashing night of Irish music and dancing. Great night out.

We booked the show on our last night in Dublin. The band played and sang Irish songs. The dancers where also great! Be ready as they pick people from Audience to come on stage. Great night!

This pub/restaurant is a hidden gem, in the mountains of Rathfarnham, Dublin. Have eaten here several times and found all the courses without fail to be top notch. Go early to avoid disappointment as this place fills up quickly or call ahead and reserve a table

We have been there a couple of times already. It is a great restaurant to spend an evening with friends and family. Their food is great and so is the staff. It is great to be having your dinner and have a band playing live music right there any day of the week. It is a great place to bring... More

Brought some work colleagues from Sweden and Germany to the irish show. I have to say it was fantastic. Between the very talented Merry Ploughboys trad band and the Irish dancers it made for a wonderful evening. The pre show 3 course dinner was really good as well. My colleagues were in awe of the music and dancing and I... More
