First time to eat here and thoroughly enjoyed it. We opted for the French Onion soup and the smoked chicken to start. Both were lovely, but I think the chicken for me was the best, very moist. Roast lamb with vegetable gratin and beef bourguignon for mains, both delicious. Last but not least, creme brulee, gorgeous light texture and lovely... More

Visited for the first time and was very pleasantly surprised at this lovely little restaurant with the big atmosphere, so French, so chic. Had the onion soup for starter and the beef bourguignon for mains, both were delicious and really good value. I'll be back.

A typical perfect little French bistro style restaurant with an outdoor seating area where you can relax with your lunch and glass of wine and watch the world go by! No traffic passing as it is beside the gates of Dublin Castle. Overhead covering just in case the sun's not out and for colder days they put the large heaters... More

We called in for a glass of wine as there is a heated terrace. The restaurant and staff were so welcoming that we looked through the menu and returned the following day for an evening meal. The food was delicious. I had the house Sauvignon Blanc which complemented my meal fabulously. It is located perfectly for the Olympia Theatre, Temple... More

Had lunch here with two friends. We were unexpectedly delighted with the quality of the food and the value for money. Will definitely be back.

My friends and I had dinner at this restaurant. We all enjoyed our meals and there were no complaints. The restaurant is small and intimate, ideal for a romantic meal. I had the duck, which was very good.

I started with the onion soup which was good. Then I had the beef bourguignon which was terrific. Great flavor...wonderful ingredients. My wife had the skirt steak which didn't have as much flavor as we're used to.

We ve been regulars since our first date years ago, we adore eating outside on the terrace even during rainy days or during the winter. Food is always very good, french classics, charcuterie and cheese boards are the best in Dublin! Good selection of wine for all budgets. Service always friendly. Chez Max is definitely a special place!
