Wandered in here for some food after a venue wish we had kept going to be honest. Bar lads fine but the food service is atrocious we had to clear dirty glasses from table from last customers we had to ask for cutlery I wont...bore you but it was shoddy, we had just begun to eat when the waitress came over and asked us to settle our bill??? I had just taken a bite of the lovely steak and there she was asking us to settle the bill so insulting rude and downright stupid!! I have worked doing exactly the same job as this person never in a million years would you ask people during there meal to settle the bill nor expect them to clear dirty glasses from table from last customers truly worst service ever and I've been around lol Better managing needed in this establishment and manners and training wouldn't go amiss!More

A lively bar with music and a lot going on. Crowd is a mix of tourists and locals. Seems to get very busy and crowded at busy times but that is always a good sign if you ask me

nice breakfast good food i went for the large breakfasts they did refills of coffee and provided iced chilled water.

The Mercantile bar is around longer than I care to remember.I always find it dark inside and just old in feeling, it never seems to have got any upgrades over the years, saying that its a good place to go with a group when you...are trying to avoid Temple Bar and need some space but tables and chairs can be hard to get once you are in there. This pub is part of the Mercantile Hotel but I didn't stay there so can't comment on that. Heineken are €6.20 each, typical horrible Dublin prices, ok for a few drinks every so often but its a tourist trap and its doesn't need to make an effort. While its an ok place to go, i wouldn't be rushing into it, plently of other nicer places to buy your high priced Euro drink.More

Visited the Mercantile for lunch yesterday. We waited about 20 minutes for someone to clear the table from the previous group who had been there. The group sitting beside us actually ended up clearing their table themselves. I had to go to the bar to...ask could someone come and take our order. It wasn't overly busy as the rugby had finished at that point. The waitress then served table beside us and didn't come to take our order. When I asked could she take the order her response was quite abrupt, no communication or as much as a smile, dumped the cutlery down on table, clearly annoyed at having been asked to take the order. A shame as its a nice bar to watch matches.More

I visited Dublin for the weekend of 2nd Aug for my daughters hen do. What a fabulous night we had here. What a great atmostphere. We were made very welcome. We had lovely platters of food and had a great night and no-one minded we...were all dressed as oaps. They had live music later on. We enjoyed ourselves so much we went back on the Saturday night. I would definitely recommend this pub for drink, food, music and definitely atmosphere.More

Fantastic place to eat and especially for breakfast. The meals were really reasonable and huge portions. Would recommend the breakfast bap - full irish on a roll - yummy!

Staff is rude and extremely impolite. Is definitely not a good place for. Those who are looking for a funny night in Dublin.

We just had a couple of after work drinks here one Friday. It wasn't too busy but was filling up all the time. The service was good at the bar and the drinks weren't too expensive.

We went to the mercantile restaurant after a day trip period as we walked by we were attracted by the menu and were able to be seated immediately. My wife had the battered cod dinner and I had the fresh cod prepared with the smallest...muscles I've ever seen - they looked a lot like tiny clams. They were scrumptious! both meals were prepared well and quite tasty! Service was good and the restaurant was fairly full so no complaints there we would consider going back to the mercantile next time or in Dublin periodMore

Nice and cosy atmosphere, trendy but traditional. Whilst i was a bit bored of burgers being the main thing on most menus, i went for a chicken burger and it was possibly the best chicken burger i had ever had! Good selection of drinks as...well from the bar and a good irish coffee.More

Unfortunately food was mediocre. Service was ok. Fish and chips tasteless. Soup Luke warm and not truly vegetables. Would not recommend.
