We visited on a Friday evening for my partners birthday. Upon booking I informed the staff that it was a special occasion. I received an email asking for my partners name which I thought was lovely as it was likely they would do something special knowing it was his birthday. We arrived and were promptly seated. The waiter said he... More

Had dinner here a week ago - have always enjoyed the atmosphere of the place. It was a busy night there but the service was top notch. Duck salad starter might have benefited from more Duck! But the scallops were top notch. Wine List looks great but did not explore it on this occasion. Venision and Pork main courses were... More

Booked for 5 45 for dinner on Saturday before going to see Rod Stewart. Arrived early, nice welcome, seated immediately. Service prompt and efficient. The menu was already on the table. It had changed to Christmas early bird that week so wasn't the menu on the Web site. To be honest it was poor and the selection didn't really appeal... More

Hi Margaret G, Thanks very much for taking the time to write us a review about your recent visit to ely bar & brasserie. Apologies for the miscommunication on the menus, as it was misleading that both our current early bird and Christmas early bird were listed online. I'm very disappointed to hear you didn't enjoy the goat's cheese &... More

I was brought here as part of a group from work. We were all seated downstairs in an alcove. It was very cosy with plenty of mood lighting. I ordered the Ardsallagh goats cheese with beetroot and pumpernickel for my starter. It was quite nice if you like beetroot (which I do) and it was a cold starter. I was... More

The food is excellent but we had the grumpy guy serving us which was unfortunate for us! Otherwise great evening & very tasty food.

Another visit to Dublin and another excellent meal at Ely on a chilly Sunday evening. In an ancient building right on the River, the setting was perfect for dinner looking out over the patio that was encompassed in a light rain. A tasty salad set the stage for a steak cooked to perfection with fries on the side along with... More

Went for dinner with colleagues from work. The atmosphere is lovely; a blend of fin de siecle industrial and the very trendy modern that for once does work. The seating is a bit tired and could do with some TLC, but overall a very good location indeed. the food is smart. The menu is short, but what they do they... More

Tried elsewhere close by but they were fully booked so we tried here...... Ely happily accepted us and we're so glad they did. The location is very impressive downstairs in the old storerooms. Ozzie who served us was superb. The wine he recommended was superb. Scallops perfectly cooked. Steak was lean and exactly medium/rare. Happily recommended

Wife and I shared a pre theatre early bird menu past week. I must say the food was top class with very attentive and efficient staff looking after us. Unusual and interesting menu, or maybe not, as I've never been here before. I odererd the oysters from the a la carte. They were doing a special ( 9 for €15).... More

Choosing a venue for 12 people on a Saturday night, with a weird collection of dietary fads was never going to be a simple task - however ely b&b delivered- even changing their vegetarian option to suit our needs. Atmospheric dining area, great choices of dishes from a set menu- all in all the birthday girl was happy.
