Good ambiance, easy to hold conversation. Set menu....no greens as sn option. Seeet start. Too sweet for me. Extraq small portions. I am 60+ and works for me....but the portions are extremely small. No options for main course and pigon would not be my choice. Maybe Quale, maybe Prtridge. Bill added service charge is avainst my believe. It should be... More

4th visit to Thorntons over the years and the most disappointing. Booked this before hearing of planned closure. Despite charging €75 pp (excluding wine), there was No Choice offered on the menu (even on a Saturday night). 5 course fixed menu only option available, take it or leave it. Food very underwhelming, pigeon as main course not to my taste... More

Went here with my brother. We had the tasting menu. Every course was brilliant and the paired wines were perfect. Great service and atmosphere. The dessert was Apple 7 ways which for me was the stand out dish.

Ate in this restaurant in August this year,it was a special occasion soi thought this would be an ideal venue to celebrate. The ambiance was good and the staff very pleasant but the cost was rediculous. The food was artistically presented but this in itself could not in my opinion justify the cost of same.I have been in all the top restaurants... I booked the restaurant for my wife's bday and on arrival we were greeted by wonderful staff.i must note that staff attention to detail and service was exceptional. We were offered wither the 5 course tasting embittered or the 7 course and we both opted for the 7.Lovely wine choice and again staff were friendly professional and accommodating. My high... More

I booked the 7 course tasting menu for my boyfriend and i, which left us utterly deflated. We enjoy eating in different restaurants and were excited to experience Kevin's gastronomic creations. I now understand why he lost a Michelin star and perhaps addressing "constructive" feedback like this may help him regain it. More importantly the food lacked substance and was... More

Easy to find on St Stephens Green. The restaurant is upstairs with a elegant modern decor. The resturant was busy for a Saturday Lunch which provided a nice atmosphere. The lunch menu was set with three choices for each course. Our lunch started with crispy rolls and a tasty smoking appetizer . Our starter, the Tuna three ways was quite... More

Wow, wow and wow, great place to celebrate. And we did celebrate our wonderful tour throughout Ireland, the good weather, the puffins and the good food. Beeing here on the last night of the trip was the best choice we could have made, it was wonderful! Great cuisine, great chef who actually talks to you:-) and great wines also, a... More

Father's day lunch (on a Saturday) with my daughters. The decor is mostly done by the chef - from his world-class photography to a bronzed statue of a tunafish skeleton. Every now and cranny is worth your attention in this amazing space. The food was beyond sublime. We had the 3 course lunch and, when Chef heard that my daughters... More

Having eaten in all of the Michelin starred restaurants in Dublin I was keen to eat at Thornton's to see why it had lost it's Michelin star. I had been following the restaurant's twitter feed for quite some time and the shared photos of their food looked delicious. It certainly appeared that having lost their star they were working hard... More
