The beauty and lively atmosphere is no exaggeration and though the crowd is often more European and American and Australian than Irish the truth is it is a fun experience in a handsome traditional bar with great music and an excellent wait staff. It's what gave the area its name. Make a stop in.Yes, drinks are a bit more...so grab... More

I have never seen a bar so packed! In spite of the crowd or maybe because of it, everyone was having a great time - singing along with live music! dancing and generally having a great time! Definitely a must see if you want to see how the Irish party! Everyone was very nice and polite and generally very happy!

This year we decided to spend the whole of new year inside the pub and yes it was very busy but the atmosphere and live music was everything I expected of the... More

Yes, of course it's a tourist trap. I went on a Friday night for a beer and it was almost impossible to get a drink at the bar much less find a place to drink it. I was hoping to hear some live Irish music or some authentic music at least but there was just some old guy with an... More

Since we've heard loads about this pub we gave it a try during our stay in Dublin. Nice atmosphere, traditional but fun decor, beer and live music - what more do you need. Service was lovely and menu was quite good, with a beer + oysters combo that I had to try. It was my partners first meeting with oysters... More

We enjoyed visiting this pub during or trip. The locals that were drinking in there were very friendly and we had a great time. The drinks are very expensive though so take plenty of money!
