This was probably the worst fried fish of any kind I’ve even had. Went to the take away location in Christchurch. The fish was obviously undercooked. The flesh fell out of the batter when I picked it up. Gross. Around 7pm, April 22nd.

You're not going to find much better in the way of chippers in Dublin then here. Little to be said other then it's what you'd expect from a proper fish and chip shop, absolutely delicious. Bettered sausages one of fav, garlic cheese chips, fresh fish,...fish bites, all amazing. If your looking for food on the go, come here, added perk of being next door to one of Dublins best pubs, the Lord EdwardMore
The chips were delicious but was surprised when previous reviews were true. The gentleman serving was grumpy and gruff and not in a humorous way. Didn’t have fish, a few items were unavailable as well but the chips were good (on the salty side for...those who aren’t keen). We hail from a seaside city and spouse knows their chips! Don’t come here for service, I am sure there are chips just as good elsewhere, so possibly avoid? Up to you - it boasts a large list of famous people - perhaps the commoners aren’t worth a smile?More
Strictly a to go establishment, but they serve the best and largest fish and chips i have had or have seen. The fish was fried crispy and battered well the chips were crispy I will say you need to know what you want when you...get to the counter, since they run like a precise machine.More
We discovered the address by chance asking some people whom we saw eating what already looked like a delicious fish'n'chips. Tasting it is even better, so give it a try. I don't know about the best bit for sure delicious and simple fish and chips...as you'd like it to be.More
Good portions and tasty. Recommend this location (and others not so much). Suggest adding salt and vinegar packets (or asking if customer wants any).
Must be some historic reason why people seem to like this place, it's nothing more than over hyped touristy fish and chip shop, your own local one must be better than this, they pre-cook the fish and chips even when not busy, seriously!! , save...your money and go somewhere else. It's like Harry Ramsden of EnglandMore
Always a pleasure! Their fish and chips are out of the world. Remember to book or go out of busy times as the place is quite small.
There really isn't much to say here other than this is the best chipper in Ireland hands down. The chips are the best I have ever had in my life. The lads working there are all lovely too. Will always come back every time I'm...in DublinMore
The fish and chips was ok, but the staff were awful. They took our order incorrectly (obviously on purpose), wouldn’t let us pay together, and were laughing and rolling their eyes at us when we didn’t understand that their strange hand gestures meant they wanted...to see our Covid certificates. It was all very unnecessary and strange for such a touristy, popular part of Dublin. The staff clearly had a lot of fun at our expense, and we felt very uncomfortable. Would avoid going here.More
Possibly, one of the worst fish & chips meals I've ever had..... I know times have changed .. but there was a time when you would have to be very unlucky not to enjoy your fish & Chips from any old back street chipper.... No...matter what part of the country you lived in...But this was The Renowned ( Leo Burdocks,, of Werburgh Street It cost me €35.39 for I fresh cod & Chips & 1 smoked cod and chips and a tub of garlic sauce...... I wouldn't be writing this review if I at least enjoyed my meal ... we ate the fish. which was average .. but actually threw the dried out chips in the bin.... An incredible disappointment .... Alan Pigott.... alancepigott@me.com.... 0877665811.. I give my personal details. just to show I am not an anonymous crank with a grudge .. Thanks for listening.......More
Nice location to pick-up food, and rather quick service. The cod was alright but the chips were average at most. We asked for vinegar with our orders but could not taste it on the chips. Overall the dish was quite dry and would have needed...more seasoning or sauces of some sort.More
There's no seating at this location, which put a damper on our visit. However, the fish is very good. There's several kinds of fish to choose from, I personally like the hake best, but that's to your own tastes.
Food is normally good, but this time the staff were preoccupied by a friend. Went in for fish and chips, by the time I got home, there was no fish in my order.
My friend and I both ordered fresh cod & chips. from this emporium using Deliveroo DISASTER - his arrived mine did not - they simply would not acknowledge the order so we both shared one meal. It wouldn't have been so bad if it was...tasty but the cod had barely any flavour, it was mushy from water hydration having obviously been frozen. IT IS NOT as one might expect to be freshly caught and cooked. You really will be as hooked as the unfortunate fish was if try this dish. Good luck if you are naïve enough to believe the propaganda about Leo Burdocks, if they had bothered to provide communication regarding the order I would probably not have bothered writing this but if they think they can delver trash meals like this and get away with it THEY ARE WRONG. For those of you thinking to use their service via Deliveroo, good luck with that we kept the screenshots of the failed order process and will be adding to a documentary poor quality players.More
