Since I discovered this place I ve been there different times. They often introduce new dishes so it s always a new experience . The place is nice and cosy, it feels like been somewhere else in the world. A magical atmosphere for all the senses but for the palate above all. The different flavours of the dishes are just... I've never had Indonesian food before but the menu here was quite intriguing! We decided to get two of their set menus and share all of the delights! We were not disappointed and even ordered a few more items that looked interesting! My favorite items were the steamed buns with prawns and duck, the short rib, lamb curry, and the... More

Recently ate in Chameleon. Really enjoy the food and the atmosphere. I thought it was the best Asian food that I have eaten in Dublin. Will definitely return.

We tried Chameleon based on several good recommendations and we weren't disappointed. The menu is quite extensive and rather than do the set courses we just tried our own and shared amongst the table. The highlights were the chili prawns, chicken satay, lamb curry and the buns - they were fantastic. It's a small place, so be sure to have... More

Walked by this restaurant everyday and was always intrigued. Didn't disappoint as had a really lovely experience here. Gorgeous authentic food in a beautiful ambience. Would have rated it 5* only waitress got swamped/short on staff and forgot about us. We were heading to a show so couldn't wait for extra drinks, coffee and desserts that we had ordered. This... The food here is really good, clever concept and really good value. Mainly Asian fusion but unlike some fusion places everything here is fantastic. The only downside is it really needs freshening up. A professional paint job and more thorough cleaning would make this one of Dublins Jems. The toilets need moe regular cleaning and things like the floor on... More

The menu appears vast but in fact is quite limited - not a fault in itself, usually. Son and I realized we weren't hungry enough for the set menu (and didn't want to spend the €30-40 per person) so opted for the Tapas menu (tho' at €7 - €14 they were hardly tapas prices). Despite the waitress' recommendation of 3... More

I LOVE this place! I've been twice now and wouldn't hesitate to go back. Such an original take on tapas with lots of Indonesian dishes to choose from. We got one of the set menus and added a few extra side dishes and left comfortably full and very satisfied. A bit more expensive than what you'd be expecting for tapas... More

Can't fault, amazing everything, food, atmosphere and staff, we would highly recommend Chameleon to any food lovers. Sat at one of the soft seated table with friends which gave the whole experience and extra quirk.

Description
Chameleon in Temple Bar is an intimate, ambient restaurant that specialises in Indonesian rice-table. Rice table (or rijst-tafel) is when the diner is served an array of sumptuous different dishes, at the same time, from confit of pork belly with star anise to free range chicken satay to our delicious desserts, all made in-house! Its almost like Indonesian tapas!Since opening in 1994, its owners, husband and wife team, Carol & Kevin have made a point in using as much locally sourced Irish produce as possible, including only using free range Irish chicken and locally caught, seasonal Irish fish.Chameleon is ideal for a romantic get together or indeed, for your birthday party or Christmas party, as they can cater for groups of up to 40 in our private dining rooms.Winning may awards over the years in 2013 the Chameleon was voted Best World Cuisine in Ireland by the highly acclaimed Restaurants Association of Ireland
