We were starting the Literary Pub Tour here, so decided to have dinner here first. The staff couldn't be more attentive to our large group. We had a great table for 10 and were served perfectly. The food was typical pub food - certainly not gourmet, but the prices were good and it did the trick. Loved the historical environment.... More

Had couple of drinks here before the tour and something to eat. The food wasn't gourmet but it did the job. The staff were lovely.

We stopped here for lunch, our first choice, the Stag's Head, being temporarily closed for Guinness promo filming! My friend ordered two pints of Guinness and was served three (rectified by barman). We were among the first lunch customers and were well attended to by a friendly waitress. Had Irish stew with soda bread which we both enjoyed. The place... More

This was a local restaurant with a menu of Irish choices. Small footprint / friendly staff / strong coffee.

A very quiet restaurant/pub. Only went for drinks. The waitress was helpful and attentive offering suggestions. She went along with us as we did the touristy thing and asked for her to take pictures for us.

We were told The Duke did food by the barman in nearby Kehoes, and what a cracking recommendation that proved to be. Visited on a saturday afternoon and had a really great bowl of Irish Stew , chunky bits of meat , big spuds loads of 'gravy' but really substantial. So good , that we returning on the following day... More

On our visit, I found this pub to be very average. Although, it is great for a large group. We hung out upstairs and had a few beers and appetizers. The service was friendly and people seemed to be having a good time.

Loved the food, the space and the service. The Irish stew was the best I've had. My friend enjoyed her burger, which looked incredible, and my glass of Rioja set the meal off perfectly. Our waitress was helpful and charming. I would definitely come back here.

Wow the Duke! What more can be said about it? A true Dublin Classic! I will only add these few words: the Food, the Service, the Atmosphere, are simply perfect!! If you want the classic Dublin experience, a great place to get a pint, fantastic food, and take in the local scene.....you can't miss this.

The Duke has everything going for it. It is a large pub with friendly staff, good food and drink. There is a good selection of beers and spirits, plus the bonus of a carvery station. The aroma from the food is amazing. We tried the ham roast and the soup of the day. The ham brought us back to our... More
