Had a really lovely afternoon tea in the Silk Road. It had a middle eastern theme and makes a nice change from the usual scones and sandwiches. We ate everything which was served to us and we also had a glass of wine which was part of our deal. The fact that we had purchased the Afternoon Tea on a... More

I bought a voucher on Groupon or living social for afternoon tea. It included glass of wine each and exotic afternoon tea. I went on a Friday afternoon with my niece. I had booked a table for 2pm when we arrived at the cafe it is very pleasant and has lively seating area out in a sheltered court yard. There... More

Firstly let me say the Chester Beatty Library is Fantastic! Especially if you watch the video introduction downstairs first so you get the context of this tremendous collection. We had lunch first at the Silk Road Cafe which has a middle eastern style of food. It is a casual, move past the choices and pay at the end affair. You... More

Must be one of Dublins better eating experiences in part due to uniqueness of food and situation in treasure that is Chester Beatty library,it is very like restaurant in Guimet in Paris in this respect The buffet/canteen layout combined with poor communication of staff are a disappointment----the lack of a menu card, expectation that a poorly laid out blackboard is sufficient... Great for veggies there are plenty of choices in hot and cold foods. I went for the veggie moussaka which was nice but I found it too starchy as it was loaded with potatoes. I wish I went for the falafel and salad. The salads I tried (tabouleh & red cabbage) were fabulous. We had baklawa and coffee after but... More

3 of us had lunch there on a Saturday. It was pleasantly busy but no problem in getting a table. Not all mains were available - presumably as it was c2pm when we joined the queue. At the same time there was enough choice to satisfy everyone and we were sitting with our food within 10 minutes of arrival. I... More

The Silk Road Café is situated in the same building as the Beatty library, which is really worth the visit. In the café you can chose between different dishes, (i.e. chicken, lamb, vegetarion, etc.), both full and half portion and with salad or vegetabels.Really nice food and flavours. I can recommend the moussaka with lamb

On the side of the doorway they had a whole string of awards mounted for the world to see. I chose the Moussaka with rice. I liked it. The inner dining area was roomy, with a tiled floor and a high ceiling. The chairs and table were interesting, artistic, and comfortable. This restaurant is inside a converted old building. They...
