I have been to this and the two other Yamamori restaurants in Dublin several times in the last few years. The sushi is great and they have other good dishes. Not the cheapest place, but good quality. Can get pretty packed.

Having dinner here was a spontaneous decision. We called about 2-hours before to make a reservation for a group of 7. They were able to accommodate us after 9pm, which is exactly what we wanted. We arrived, our table wasn't ready so we had a drink in the bar downstairs. We got the best table in the middle of the... More

This was our second time here, we had booked a table two weeks in advance because we wanted to make sure we got one, and upon arriving the maitre'd told us that he could give us two hours! We found this extremely rude and unwelcoming and told him so, after clarifying that he knew we had booked a table. Unfortunately,... More

If you want great sushi this is the place to go, the atmosphere is great and the food is even better. As someone gluten intolerant I also really appreciate that I can get gluten free soy sauce and that everything I can eat is clearly indicated on the menu. Only thing that brings down the score for this time was... More

This place had a great atmosphere and food was very good. We didn't book a table but sat in the bar area and ate. I would recommend booking if you want a table in restaurant area. We went on a Saturday night it was busy. The food was very good and had a good range. We got several dishes and... More

I love sashimi, i hate sashimi that's powdery. That's what i got. So fearing fish food death for the next 24hours i didn't touch it and had fun and games explaining that it's not fresh.Still had to pay and here's my bad review! So eye for an eye and all.

Attempted to visit this venue (late night bar, not the restaurant) but the door man felt that I wasn't the "right look", as I had a crutch/stick. He even said you can't come in with that crutch. He managed to let able bodied people in before & after me. Disability discrimination!! Shame as we'd experienced such a fab & friendly... More

My daughter chose this place for her birthday dinner and it was a great choice. Lots of variety on the menu. My particular favourite was the burger, a mini lamb burger which is just about the tastiest burger I have ever eaten. I also had the duck pancakes and a Dim Sum selection all accompaniied by draught Kirin beer which... More

Description
YAMAMORI IZAKAYA, located at 12-13 South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2, in what was originally Ireland's very first cafe. This old Bewleys building boasts original oriental style decor with a twist. Enjoy the 1940's Chinese and Japanese beer ads and movie posters with a great Asian beer or rice wine, and try our dublin famous homemade Izakaya burger. After your meal we have a lounge downstairs where you can catch a nice Izakaya Lycee cocktail, and enjoy some modern sounds from Dublin's up and coming DJ's.

Downstairs is a Japanese style drinking house, serving small Japanese style pub food dishes with great Japanese whiskeys, beers and sake.

Come for food or drinks, chill out and listen to some urban lounge deep and soul tunes.

The Izakaya has a retro easy going atmosphere and is open 7 days a week from 17:30 and is available for private bookings.
