On our recent visit to Ireland and after the overnight flight from the States we took a long walk into central Dublin and headed to the Oval Bar for a late lunch. Built in 1820 and on the route of the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, we enjoyed the cozy inside and noted they had a nice outdoor seating area... More

Good food at reasonable priced. The pub itself has a nice atmosphere... definitely worth popping in for a pint and a meal if you're in the city centre.

For our last night in Dublin, my husband wanted a Beef & Guinness pie (with his garlic allergy, this can be tough) but we found an excellent one at The Oval just off O'Connell St. . With nice puff pastry, mashed potatoes plus veg, he really enjoyed the tasty gravy of this beef and mushroom pie. I opted for a... More

So pleased we stumbled across this pub whilst exploring Dublin. The Guinness here was lovely very smooth. We had two main courses two glasses of house Red and 1 Guinness all for under €50. The food was excellent as was the service. We will definitely go back.

It's a very nice pub to be in. The atmosphere is great and it's not loud that you can't hear yourself. The staff is wonderful too

Ate dinner here on the first night of a ten night trip around Ireland. Good start. The food was very good (burger, fish and chips, etc.) and the prices were reasonable. Service was good, and the atmosphere was quaint and cozy. The only fly in the ointment was a loud-mouthed lady sitting at the bar, ripping someone on the other... More

We had dinner here while in Dublin. Food was good. Service was only ok. I was most frustrated with the wi-fi which wouldn't work for my friend or I. If you are looking for a decent meal it's a fine place, just don't expect to have wi-fi when you're there!

Myself and my boyfriend came upon this bar in Dublin recently and said we would pop in for some breakfast, Straight away we were seated upstairs, I asked for a breakfast menu which they explained they didn't have so we ordered straight away that was no problem to us, The lady who served us was not very polite and I... On a recent trip into town to meet some American friends on holidays in Dublin , I nipped into here for a quick one. I have had a good few evenings in here in the past. One became a few . Lovely Atmosphere, good crack and a great pint of Guinness to boot. Just off O'Connell street. Nice friendly staff.... More

The Oval Bar is an authentic Irish Pub situated idyllically in the heart of Dublin City on Middle Abbey Street. Housed within a beautiful Victorian building with most of its period features still intact, The Oval is the perfect place to escape from the hectic hustle and bustle of the city outside and provides a haven of welcome and warmth for local office workers on lunch, busy shoppers looking to recharge their batteries, visiting tourists looking for the 'Craic' and music, cinema and theatre goers looking for a bite to eat and a drink before or after their show. Once our patrons step inside our doors they experience the relaxed and convivial nature of our charming pub, our Staff are welcoming and friendly and will ensure that everyone's stay is a pleasant one. With over 3 floors of seating and a large function area with its own private bar facilities available to rent we can accommodate any size group. We also have an outdoor seating area for those lazy Dublin summer evenings. Our kitchen serves a full menu daily with Traditional Irish Stew being one of our specialities! The Oval has long been renowned as an exceptional place to watch 'the match', we show all the major sporting events on our wide screen LCD TVs and has also a great atmosphere for pre or post match celebrations for patrons going to and from Croke Park. The Oval - home of the best Pint of Guinness in Dublin!
