I am not a meat and potato girl. I don't really like fish. I don't like lamb. I was having a tough time finding food I liked in Dublin. The good part was I wasn't gaining any weight on this vacation! Three days before leaving I stumbled on the cafe in Avoca. O.M.G. The food was AMAZING! Scones. To. Die.... More

ordered the haloumi salad to split, the cod scampi and the roast chicken. Yumm. unusual flavors pulled together the way only Avoca could do it. and afterwards, wen you can't take another bite, drop down to -0 for their cinnamon, peacan oatmeal cookies. a meal in itself.

So Avoca is well promoted locally and it is not entirely undeserved. We arrived on Sunday for a late breakfast or early lunch. I had a hearty Irish breakfast that was perfect with excellent coffee. The cafe is on the 3rd floor of the Avoca store. An elevator (lift) is available but well hidden otherwise, three winding flights through the... More

Arrived just as breakfast was officially ending & lunch beginning. Not to mention a queue. Wasn't looking too good for the three of us who only wanted breakfast. Thankfully, and as usual, Emma (we call her "The Meeting n' Greeting Goddess"), sorted us without any fuss & made us feel totally welcome - a sunny & happy disposition seems to... More

This store is always very busy and it definitely deserves credit where credit is due. We bought some nice cakes for our trip down to our home in Cork. The staff were nice and seemed interested in what they were doing. Nice place and worth a visit !

Stopped in for lunch before going shopping on Grafton Street. We had a delicious lunch - crab pot with salad and the potato soup. Also had delicious cappuccino. Terrific service and very friendly and inviting spot full of lots of locals.

Had a casual lunch in the downstairs cafe. We has fishcakes and a chicken sandwich. Both were very good, but the carrot cake was the highlight. My wife, who's very selective about her desserts, loved it. Great food for a good price!

Being away from Ireland for five years had me yearning for a brunch in Avoca. I was not disappointed. So lovely to see most of the staff are still working here. The food was excellent, and the service was great too! One of my favourite spots in Dublin for brunch!
