Perfect retreat for fantastic service, wine and atmosphere! Would highly recommend it. Our lovely waitress was very attentive and offered great advice on the wine to match our meal which complimented the overall meal perfectly! - Thank you!

You would think it would be easy to find great seafood in Dublin, but it isn't. We have lived in Dublin for a year now and this was the tastiest and freshest we have found. I ordered a salad with shrimp and crab and my friend had the mussels and monkfish. All of it was exceptional and the service was... More

Each year when I travel to Ireland I visit Dublin twice. Each ttme I make sure that I have dinner here. The meals are very well prepared and the service is outstanding. Can't wait to come back next year for another gourmet prepared fish dinner.

Matt the Thresher has a reputation for serving the freshest fish, and we were not disappointed. It was so good, we actually took two other couples back the next night! Every dish was excellent, and the service was top-notch.

Great food and really good service after a day of tours through the city. Someone told us to go and we loved it!

We received a recommendation to this restaurant from our innkeeper who told us that it had excellent fish specials -- haddock and sea trout. We both ordered fish dishes off of the specials menu and both were excellent. Our waitress was very friendly and provided very good service.

Came here after it was recommended. I had hake (catch of the day), my partner had a seafood stew, prawns, muscles, clams and crab claws- Both were very impressed. Good sized portions - starters looked large so decided to avoid them. Service was quick and efficient. Would highly recommend

Probably the best fish restaurant in Dublin. Have been here many times. The fish pie has changed and is now lovely & creamy. Scampi Very good Excellent service. Toilet Report: No problem Pricing: At the upper end Recomendations to Owner: maybe more vegetables instead of just salads. Bring back prawn cocktail.

While visiting Dublin this past July, my Mother and I went to Matt The Thresher twice because it was so good. We had mussels, some of the best oysters ever, lovely salads and great Irish whiskey. It is a lovely restaurant with great service, a very nice menu at a reasonable price point and nestled right in the heart of... More

Everything was perfect for our dinner experience at your establishment from being greeted at the door, our window seating, the best platter of Carlingford Oysters I have ever had and then had to admit it to our wonderful server (I am an oyster connoisseur and master shucker from New England) the main courses are delicious, the Hake Special for me...
