We went here for a romantic night out a few months ago. It was lovely! We pre-booked a table which I would recommend because it was very busy when we arrived. It was busy for a reason, the food was amazing! We both love seafood and it was fresh and seasoned really well. Service was excellent and our food was... More

Probably one of my favourite restaurants in Dublin. was with a group of sixteen there last Friday night, many of them first timers to Matt the Thresher. Service was excellent and the food top notch, as usual. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great food in a relaxed but vibrant atmosphere.

Had a very enjoyable dinner here. The food was fresh, tasty, and unpretentious. The entire staff actually cared to insure the food was as we wanted it and were extremely helpful. They went above and beyond to make sure we were well cared for the entire evening. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and comfortable.

Family gathering at Matt The Threshers - Saturday night - very busy and bustling - sat down late due to a last minute decision to request an upstairs table - waited longer than expected but worth the wait - shared a starter and then had the Hake special - both excellent - wide array of fish dishes to choose from... Latest visit - 14th Feb. Yet again Matt the Thresher delivered with beautifully fresh seafood, cooked to perfection and simply adorned. Very good value for such high quality of produce, cooked so expertly and wonderful service.

Eating alone - never good! Good setting, friendly feel closer to restaurant than gastro pub. Busy, but I got a table with little fuss at 7.30 on a friday. Sea food is the strongest part of the menu I had a haddock fish bake as a starter, then four pieces of pan fried monkfish which were lovely with an average... More

I have been here a few times for a late brunch, or early dinner. It's got a great warm atmosphere. The fish and seafood here is excellent. Unpretentious. Also, a really great atmosphere for a nice casual dinner with friends.

Every time I eat at this wonderful restaurant I go away completely satisfied that my choice of dining venue is vindicated. Just wonderful food. Wonderful staff. Wonderful atmosphere. You will love the fish chowder - if you like chowder you will never get better. I promise. But its the wide range of fish main courses that will impress you most.... More
