Just dined at Matt the Thresher and had the most wonderful seafood. Fresh, sweet, and meaty oysters, succulent monkfish, and the wonderful shellfish pot - everything was done beautifully. Have dined in many of the world's 'best' restaurants, would put this meal right up there.

The food is delicious and the game of thrones decoration compliments the amazing ambient! Would definetely reccomend.

Food, atmosphere and service all great. My wife and I had a wonderful dinner at the bar made most enjoyable by the friendly bartender and his drink making expertise. I don't drink, but if I did, the "smoked old fashion" would be on my list. Highly recommend.

I expect an Irish bar to know how to pour and take pride in their Guinness. It did eventually settle but it was obvious it was a single pour, no head and sent to table immediately.

Spent an evening here whilst staying at the Merion (its an easy 5 minute stroll) and was very pleasantly surprised. Foe a city centre eatery it was really busy and food was more than acceptable. my only criticism was the tiny size of the table. Really places should do better in this regard.

We came her after a recommendation from both our tour guide and our hotel concierge. We had asked for a casual pub, but the atmosphere here I s much nicer than a pub. Bar area is open and airy with a second floor seating area overlooking the bar. Food was delicious and definitely more upscale than a typical pub, but... More

We ordered the mussels for an appetizer and the Hake. Both dishes were exceptional. Mussels were tender and the served with a light cream sauce that you won't want to leave behind. The Hake was a light dish and had a lovely nutty flavor. We are seafood eaters and I promise you won't be disappointed in this restaurant. Our server... More

We enjoyed our meal at Matt The Thresher, but we were a bit disappointed in the service. This was a rare occurrence for us in Ireland as just about everywhere we went, we were treated unbelievably well. Our wait staff here was not rude by any stretch, but inattentive is the best way for me to describe it. Again, not... More

My wife and I were walking around trying to find a nice place to eat on our last night in Dublin. A few blocks from our hotel we stumbled upon Matt the Thresher and what a stroke of luck. The atmosphere and architecture was so unusual and interesting we had to eat there. The service was exceptional, the menu was... More
