Although a little expensive it is great for a treat! We had a sharing steak dish which was fantastic. The service was superb and the atmosphere is lovely and calm. Not easy to find but well worth the trip out from the city centre.

We ate here with another couple and were not disappointed. The food was tasty and the portions were generous. Service was fine and there was a good atmosphere.

Maybe I should have read the other reviews first but I was sort of expecting a pub-grub type meal. That's really not what the Sussex is about at all. I had the early bird menu of Smoked Salmon, Fish of the day (Sea Trout with an interesting pearl barley risotto, broad beans, peas and wild mushrooms) and a Lemon Possett.... More

Good restaurant and bar in typical Irish style. At ground floor is pub on first floor restaurant. Everyday is menu + a la carte. Two course menu is around 23EUR.

This restaurant is above the O'Briens pub in Sussex st close to the Clayton and other hotels. A quick pre dinner drink downstairs then up to a cozy warm room. Well priced early bird menu (but it seemd to extend well beyond early!?) . We went off early menu and the goats cheese, soup, fish'n chips and chicken could not... More

Quiet location a bit south of the grand canal. The waitress was super nice and the food was outstanding!

Accommodating staff, friendly environment, had a nice goats cheese starter but went for burgers for a main, the chorizo placed on top of the burger was "solid" and over cooked. The burgers were average, if I went back I wouldn't go for them again.

Really recommend this bar / restaurant! Enjoyed a drink downstairs with friendly locals then had an excellent meals upstairs. I had the Sussex smokies to start followed by the shepherds pie. Really first class, satisfyingly tasty. Waitress was friendly and efficient (and a bit sarcastic which we deserved :)). Really recommend!

We needed a quiet and charming spot like this - and the food turned out to be terrific. We went simple with fish n chips, but other fare was great too. Nice little bar, and great staff.

Stunningly different food. Low key athmosphere. The tasting menu with the wine accompaniment is worth the price. Hard to get a table at weekends

Thank James G
