Stopped here as part of a tour group. Pub is really great - very traditional. Staff is incredibly friendly - particularly given that 50 people all walked in at once and demanded drinks. They do give "to go" cups if you're not done when the tour resumes. Locals in the pub were really great - a couple invited me to... More

Old fashioned honest traditional pub with good friendly service and food to match. Try the Irish "coddle" a ham and potato broth. Cash only!!!

Dropped in by chance from a visit to the cemetery next door. (seens odd to visit a cemetery, but Glasnevin is justly famous for its inhabitants). Excellent meet and greet and nothing was too much trouble. All staff on the ball and lots of other diners enjoying the fare. Tapas were well executed and presented and tasted really well. Not... Went here after a Dublin match with a few friends. The sun was shining and we had our pints out on the grass outside. Best pints in Dublin too. Perfect

The first night in Dublin, we took a cab from our hotel to John Kavanagh's Gravedigger's Pub. It had been on my bucket list since seeing on the food network. It was not a disappointment!!! The food was over the top delicious. I loved the pork belly stew, the chicken spring rolls, the Parma, and really everything at our table.... More

Perfect Irtish pub - no music, no debit cards, no machines just great Guinness and busy chat in a packed bar. Next door is the tapas zone with a greta range of great food. Excellent

Stopped in at The Gravediggers after visiting Glasnevin cemetery. Loved the people we found there, including the owner, who made us feel right at home.

On a recent trip to Dublin, made sure to make it to GraveDiggers.... Seeing it on Anthony Bourdain's The Layover, it's a locals pub situated next to the legendary Glasnevin Cemetery. Upon entering we recognized owner/chef Ciaran Kavanagh from the show. He stopped what he was doing to chat with us and had us sign the visitors ledger. He's a... More

Based on reviews sought to eat lunch at 3pm--only basic ham & cheese toasties offered. A bit circuitous to find, but clean & friendly.
