I used to live locally and visit the gravediggers frequently, still now I try to visit as much as I can. The tapas here is absolutely delicious and the pints of Guinness are excellent. The atmosphere is always great and the staff are very friendly. A great spot to visit, I would recommend 100%.

Thank you so much, a returning customer is the best compliment! The team work hard to keep the tradition of a warm welcome and good value product going, and I know they'll appreciate your words. More

A rare 22 degrees Sunday in Dublin. At the end of the day, headed over to John Kavanagh. Lots of people drinking outside, inside was cool and quiet, lots of nice wooden furniture. And was informed that the kitchen is closed on Sundays. Trip Advisor, that's kind of important to let people know. I still enjoyed my pint of Guinness... More

Hi there We're glad you enjoyed the Pint and the atmosphere. We do have our food time up on TA description and our FB page and in house signage. Unfortunately there isn't an option on TA to do both our Pub hours and our food hours. Thanks for the opportunity again to share our food times Lunch Monday to Friday... More

Very friendly and efficient service, lovely menu and just a great relaxing place to soak it all in. The toasted open face sandwich with Gorgonzola was....well it was perfect. Just perfect. Love that there's no telly or distractions. Was able to have a nice conversation w/ the family.

Wandered in after touring Glasnevin Cemetery, made it in just before a downpour. Such a fun little pub with the friendliest barman. Guinness was fantastic! I am so glad we had a chance to visit this authentic little oasis.

Make sure you look in both sides of the pub, as the bar is a real step back in time. The food in the lounge was very good (loads of meat in the coddle), amazingly cheap, and the pints were excellent (if only I could've had a second or third!). Bonus points for having no music or TV - made... More

Great experience. The two actors were extremely entertaining and talented. They included everyone in the tour and provided interesting historical info about Dublin. Again it wasn't really a scary tour but still really fun! Definitely worth it.

Hi Scott M Thank you so much, we are delighted you got to see our pub on The Gravedigger Ghost Tour, it's a wonderful way to see a different side of the city and to get out of the city centre. We'll pass on your comments to the operators. many thanks More

We arrived close to 8 pm, when they stop serving meals but a table was found quickly. It's a tapas menu and everything we tried was delicious. Service was very good.

We spent our time on the Pub side (on the left) so we cannot comment on the food. We can, however comment on the Guinness that was flowing freely from the pub. The drink was delicious and the locals were friendly and welcoming. Stop by either before or after walking around the amazing cemetery and/or botanical gardens (both nearby)

This pub is a breath of fresh air as it competes with all the modern day designer puds. Old style authentic establishment with lovely relaxed atmosphere, no television means people actually talk to each other, Drink was promptly served by friendly barman and it was like a step back in time as we sat down on the basic wooden stools...
