Pre-Christmas lunches put a strain on Dublin 2 restaurants, given which the service today, good by any standard, was exceptional. My wife who has become alcohol intolerant queried the sherry dressing so they served it separately for her to try. A second glass of wine for me was ordered by semaphore in the noisy bustle and the waiter did not... More

Our trip leader raved about this palce but it certainly didn't live up to its supposed reputation in my estimation. I've experienced a lot of fine dining, being quite a foodie, but I didn't find this to be anything unusual. It was very crowded, noisy, and the service left a lot to be desired. I've never seen such a small... More

We had dinner here early in the evening, but the restaurant still had plenty of people in it and there was a nice atmosphere. The seafood here is stellar, the platters are so tasty - we found one small platter (warm) and some sides would actually have been enough for the two of us as there was so much on... More

Last Thursday 24th November 2016, eight of us went to the Cliff House for lunch, which I had booked the previous week. From the get go, the service was excellent. On arrival, they have the entrance decked out in lights giving a warm welcoming feeling. You instantly feel cosy and special, delighted that you picked this place. The entrance hall... More

Had heard so much about this restaurant that perhaps expectations were high, but the experience was so far removed from expectations, it was ridiculous.. - Scallops were raw (appreciate they don't take a lot of time on the pan.. they were 'cold' in the middle) but when sent back, the replacements were exactly the same... not returned a 2nd time... I have used this restaurant previously and always found it good. They now require e mail addresses and credit card details to book a table. Not a great customer experience.

Went for lunch on a busy Thursday, restaurant was empty on arrival but full on way out! Waiters buzzing around everywhere and really attentive . Food was excellent - recommend the very well presented soup and hens egg for starter and chocolate fondant for dessert. Really impressed with service and flavour of food was smashing Two small gripes - menu... More

I am a ruddy fussy girl, I like my comforts , and when I visited The Cliff Towntown House in St Stephens Green with a dear friend, we where slightly " blown away" ! Such elegance, cleanliness, character and the rooms truly are so spacious and beautifully decorated, not cramped . They leave a sleeping kit and a bag of... More

We were recommended this restaurant. Menu looked great, so we went in keen anticipation. Two problems though. First, and this is an unusual complaint, it was too fast! We were looking forward to a relaxed dinner (8.00pm booking), but they'd rushed through starter and mains in under an hour from arrival. Second was service. Disinterested guy on the front desk...
