We booked for the first night in Dublin as we knew we would have jet lag and were staying upstairs at the Merrion. Had a wonderful meal with excellent service. I see that the restaurant is a "Certificate of excellence" honoree, which implies that the reviews are pretty consistently positive, but surprised it does not rank higher. Perhaps that is... More

I ate here on my birthday with my husband, the service, food, atmosphere was 10/10. Our meal was delicious with some nice touches, my only reason for not giving 5 stars is what my husband mentioned after the meal. He booked online and requested that they bring out a candle in my dessert as it was my birthday, he also... More

Dropped in here without a reservation on our last night in Dublin, but given table by friendly, efficient staff and had great meal. Good range of choices for food & drink and the setting in the old cellars gives nice atmosphere.

Before our room was ready we had a spot of lunch in the restaurant. The food was superb. This is not a budget nor even mid range lunch. A children's sausage and beans and an adult burger with two coca colas was around 40 euros. That being said we were not disappointed. Burger was cooked perfectly to medium rare and... More

Of all the fish and chips in Dublin - this was up there at the top! Breakfast was great everyday. The restaurant is separate from the bar - but both were great.

Stopped in after a long day of travel for a snack to hold us over through dinner. Our server, John, was kind and accommodating. He recommended the carrot soup with coconut milk. It was delicious! The brown bread & butter was warm and fresh. We also stopped in for after dinner drinks a couple of nights during our stay. It... More

Amazing Breakfast Buffet as well as a great ala carte menu. traditional eggs and meats. Good service and friendly staff. Located in the basement, hence the name. Very interesting room.

We generally avoid hotel restaurants for dinner because they often are overpriced and have mediocre food. We had dinner at the Cellar Restaurant on a recent Saturday evening because we had been planning to dine elsewhere but could not due to a reservation mix-up (my fault). What a fortunate mistake ! Both the food and service at the Cellar Restaurant... More
