Booked this restaurant based on trip advisor reviews in September for a meal in March, through OpenTable. Reservation was cancelled without an email or phone call - VERY Poor!

Lovely sub-ground floor restaurant, intimate but with good spacing between the tables, the food is more toward the haute cuisine end of the spectrum and very very well executed. We had pre theatre dinner. The waitress was warm, welcoming and kind to us. The stairway is steep so older folk may find it a bit daunting otherwise cannot fault this... More

We had a fantastic dinner here - the food and service were wonderful and although it was a bit of a splurge, it was well worth it.

I have been there a few times for lunch and I have enjoyed it very much (as well as my guests). The food and service was very good. It is a place to go for a relaxing lunch - it is not a place for a quick and fast lunch. The space is small (2 rooms) and it is comfortable.

Was looking for a place to get a bite to eat around 9 o clock. Stumbled across this real gem near trinity college. The waitress kept the place open just for us. Food was fantastic at a very fair price! Would recommend to anyone for excellent Irish food with French influence.

Had dinner there three weeks ago and it is absolutely the best food in Dublin. The wine was first class and the variety fantastic, mostly french. Jean the owner was there that evening and she is one of the most professional and charming restaurant owners I have met. Her Husband a born in Paris and it reflects in the food,... More

Absolutely the best food I've had in Dublin, perfection. The same cannot be said of the service which was a shambles, totally disorganised. After very long waits for water, bread, and starters, the main course was eventually served 2 hours into the meal. Didn't have the stamina to stay for dessert.

A French chef, but has lost ze knack, mon Dieu !...2 courses 32 Euros, but quality and ingredients are poor, service is cheerful but amateur. Chef needs to go back to basics, quit reheating chilled food, serving main courses on giant soup bowls and vegetables in tea cups, doesn't fool customers.Daft!....32 EUROS!!!!!.........I was fooled.

I dined here last month with my best friend and gosh was it delicious! My best friend and I were seated at the front of house, with a great view of the restaurant, and ate from the À La Carte dinner menu. We opted for two glasses of white wine each, and we both went for the three-course meal. To... More

The Blackboard Bistro is conveniently located near Lincoln's Inn, and is down in a basement. It have been very nicely decorated, and the service is first class. There is a menu where you can buy 2 or 3 courses. They are a little pricey, but the quality talks for itself.

Description
The Blackboard Bistro understands the simple art of Risotto and a starter of leek and bacon risotto with fresh oregano, lemon zest & creme fraiche proves this point beautifully with all the flavours balanced, expressive and just right. Everything else that comes from the kitchen is just as precise! Mc Kenna Guides - 100 best Irish Restaurants 2013
