The staff was very friendly. We had great service. The food took a long time to get but was hot and good. We did a 2 course special by suggestion and it was very good. The prices were good also.

If I never ever again eat steak I'll be a happy camper. I've just tried the surf and turf on the stone and all I will say is ,it's to die for. What a meal. I'm on tour and will be bringing my clients back here tomorrow night. Great staff . Comfy seating . Music a small bit annoying but... More

Breakfast was provided each morning in this restaurant in our hotel (The Abbey). You got many choices from yogurt and granola to a full Irish breakfast. Great coffee and tea. We had dinner there one evening and enjoyed the fresh fish cooked right on a hot stone at the table. Loved it. The staff is attentive and the whole atmosphere... More

Carvery is rubbish. Avoid. Fish and chips absolute shameful display. Outside of fish wet and horrible, overcooked reheated fish. no 'chip shop' crispy batter to be seen. Traded up to cottage pie that barely passed. It had the consistency of dog food from a can. Veges so overcooked that only the colour could tell them apart. And the roast beef... More

Polite and kind waitress, fast serving, delicious food. The lamb was really great, their linguine with praws (pasta) was also enjoyable. Average prices, however the wine and shots are littlebit expensive (bottle of red wine 32€). After all I would recommend for everyone to visit this restaurant.

We enjoyed our evening supper here which was good value for money. The staff were friendly and welcoming and there was a lovely feel to the place. Our meals were delicious and we were able to sit and relax for as long as we wished without feeling that we were being rushed, unlike one of the other popular restaurants in... More

Where I live in Madrid, you can get a three course lunch for €10 with a drink. So.... I don't eat out that much when I'm back in Ireland, especially at lunchtime. However, one day in August I felt like a carvery lunch and I knew that the Market House Restaurant was the place to go. The service was really... More

We just happened upon this gem of a restaurant in Donegal and were not disappointed. Excellent service, great menu and delicious food. I'm not one to venture from what I know, so enjoyed the chicken cordon bleu with a pesto leaves salad. Others had the tuna on a hot stone (pretty cool to see that cook in front of you),... More

The Market House restaurant on the Diamond, Donegal Town, has built up an enviable reputation for quality food at affordable prices. Fronting onto the Diamond's iconic monument, the interior is spacious and traditional with a clever twist of modern decor. The Market House name originated from the old historical Market Hall which was located in the current building. The perfect place to stop and dine along the Wild Atlantic Way.
The Early Bird option available from 5.00 Pm to 7.30 Pm is ideal for anyone on a budget or who simply likes to eat early. Our chef has created an excellent three course menu for only €24.95 Or two course for €20.00. The local trade is very important use local businesses for fresh produce that is sourced locally.
The Sunday Carvery is very impressive three course meal for only €22.00,And it's available from 12 noon to 4.00 Pm.
For those on the move or need a quick bite, the restaurant offers a Carvery Lunch from €7.00 From 12.00 Noon to 4.00 Pm, Monday to Saturday.
