Great food, service and atmosphere. Our favourite Tapas restaurant in Cork. Looking forward to our next night there. Conor

I have eaten in Jacques a few times over the last ten years last time here was in 2019 for Tapas and have written good reviews in the past but this time it was NOT enjoyable . We arrived on time for our booking and...found a very busy and crowded restaurant ,service was all over the place and not very polite but rushed. I started with the crab as I have had it here before and loved it, I found 2 pieces of shell in the crab and there was too much chilli in it, it killed the flavour. My husband had the meatballs ,the meatballs were ok but the sauce tasted burnt not a good start to the meal. My husband had a medium rare steak again he found the steak had a taste of burn the tarragon butter only tasted of chilli not tarragon and the chips were only ok could do with more crispness. I had the monkfish it was overcooked the thing I don't understand was why sharp raw vinegary vegetables were served with a curried monkfish I have heard of fusion cuisine but this was truly bizarre the chef should go back to college. We decided to skip dessert as I am sure it would have been as bad as the rest. I did try to use the ladies before leaving and couldn't believe there was a queue for it with one toilet out of order during a PANDEMIC so I taught it safer to leave and hold it until I got home. I don't think I will be back to Jacques what a pity as I have had such good food and service in the past. At least the wine was good but i could have that at home.More

Myself & my daughter ate here recently on a busy Friday night. When we arrived we were seated immediately and offered a drink while reviewing the menu. I've been here before, the menu is always eclectic and evolving and there is a great atmosphere here....Our food was lovely, the staff very efficient and friendly and the wine list covers all tastes.More

The food was So So and the quality not as good as previous years dining there. One salvation was waitress who took our order. Professional and friendly. But then we got assigned another waiter as waitress shift ended. No ice bucket for white wine. We...had to ask for this twice. The Owner was not the most hospitable and verging on point of rude.More

Nice meal. Although I‘ve had better meals elsewhere. Service was a bit ditzy. We were forgotten about a couple of times. For the price I expected more.

Had dinner here on Friday night expecting a special meal -was so disappointing-the food was very average and the prices are so expensive I have no problem paying a high price for good food but this was really poor -the wine was nice and the...bread was good but the food was so poor Do not waste your money -there are so many better restaurants in cork-most definitely do not go here if you want a special night outMore

We enjoyed Jaques food twice on a recent trip to Cork. A cross between posh bistro and relaxed tapas bar, the menu suits a range of appetites and occasions and the place is clearly a popular social venue, buzzing and chatty with Corkie funsters. I...was especially taken with the house sourdough, baked according to the chef’s mother’s recipe, I believe - anyway, seriously tasty. Steaks were good, service was cheerful and there was nothing to find fault in.More
