Myself and my girlfriend had dinner here on the weekend and it was absolutely superb in all aspects of the visit. The decor and ambience is really warm, inviting and comfortable. We had the three course early bird menu and each dish we had was delicious and very well presented. Of the six dishes between us it was impossible to... More

Recently visited this restaurant on a Saturday night. Had never been here before and was so impressed. Myself and my partner both had quail to start, delish. It came with white beans which we didn't care for but that was our own taste. For main my partner had the duck while I had the pork. Both very well cooked and... More

We only called sat lunchtime and luckily got the last available pre theatre/early bird table. And delighted we did ..The food was super and the french/corkonian ladies were so friendly and welcoming. With two courses for €23 and three for €27, I thought this excellent value for money for the quality. Beautiful presentation. I would highly recommend a visit here..But id... More

Honest to goodness tasty flavourful food. Interesting range of starters. I devoured my roasted pepper and goats cheese ravioli and my partner had the roast quail with butterbeans and pomegranate. My fillet steak was cooked to perfection and the brownies were divine (as good as my own recipe). My friends were happy with their meal as well. Its a bit... More

Had my first meal in Star Anise last Friday July first - my children brought me for my birthday. Everything about the evening was lovely - food , atmosphere , service and value. I had a very enjoyable time and will definitely be back.

Even though we live in Cork we had never been here before. Great early bird menu. Seafood fantastic and nice wine menu. Service good, well worth a visit.

The restaurant looks good and the service is fine. The food is also good with a great starter of quail which was superb. My only problem with the restaurant is that the main course was huge and simply was too big to enjoy. I personally do not like large plates of food as it puts me off the experience. The... More

Had dinner here recently. The ambiance was great, the service friendly and the food was great. I was rushing out to a play so unfortunately did not get to stay very long. Everything was beautifully presented and very tasty.
