This tea shop is just lovely, the food is delicious, the cakes are just yummy, the ambience is friendly and relaxed, the china teapots and cups are so cute and tea made from tea leaves. I just cant fault anything about this tea room. What really impressed me was, when my son and his partner who live in Cork and regularly visit for a very late breakfast came in, they immediately put the breakfast menu on the table along with the regular menu. First class

This place was recently recommended to me, so we decided to try it out for breakfast recently. Lovely warm welcome, seated immediately, lovely Cosy atmosphere, great friendly service. Loved the pot of tea with the strainer, in China cups. Huge big a delicious breakfast was beautifuly cooked, and the ingredients were of top quality served quickly with a warm smile. Really nice place and lovely attentive staff, we both loved it, it's somewhere different. We'll definitely be back again, I'd highly recommend this place if you are in Cork city.

Yesterday my wife and I had the pleasure of a visit to Tara's tea rooms for the first time. The staff were very courteous and friendly and the food was excellent. We went for a lite-bite and were very satisfied with everything. I had the open brown bread cajun chicken sandwich with chips and soup and my wife had cake and coffee. I would have no hesitation in recommending Tara's for a light lunch or afternoon tea which the couple next to us had and it looked beautiful. Will definitely be returning very soon.

Just wonderful. A labour of love by the owner(s) surely as everywhere you look you will see complete attention to detail, with the decor, the service most importantly the food. We had a very delicious breakfast here. Produce was so fresh, so well cooked and so well presented.

Ate here with friends, be warned it is very popular so either go early or book (I'm not sure if you can book, we chanced it and got a table for 5) Decor inside is lovely, very friendly staff and a lovely traditional Irish breakfast which was a bargain and included tea or coffee. They also do gluten free and vegetarian options too. Definitely recommend this place.

Loved this little cafe, myself and my partner had the pancakes which were delicious. Food was so fresh and tasty. The cups and tea pots were so quirky I really loved them. Also the tea was fab!! Staff were very friendly and was great value for money. Would recommend for sure!

Eggs Royale is one of the great classic menu items and this quintessential breakfast or brunch dish is always and ever a treat. The smoked salmon pairs beautifully with the velvety smooth hollandaise sauce and when the eggs are poached properly the end result is vintage dining out. Dix sur Dix to the kitchen staff here, they got it just right and elevated a 'simple' dish to something an accomplished DIY home chef could rarely hope to achieve. This was a thoroughly enjoyable experience on the revitalised MacCurtain Street. Staff are courteous and friendly and the management pricing policy is fair and reasonable.

Ordered birthday afternoon tea as a surprise for my daughter. Due to COVID restrictions we had it at home . It was excellent. The sandwiches were full sized and full of lovely fillings . So flavoursome . The scones were mini sized bit plenty in the box . All came with jam and cream filling. The cakes were full sized and there was a good variety and all were full sized . We had more then plenty and I cannot recommend Taras tea room enough . The price was also very competitive. Kate was a pleasure to deal with and very helpful . Excellent. Thanks to taras tea room for an excellent afternoon tea and making my daughters birthday surprise so special

I ordered take away Afternoon Tea for my mothers birthday during the lockdown. My sisters and her all said it was one of the best afternoon tea selections they had experienced. There was a great choice of everything. Once everything opens back up they will be going into the tea house to try it again. It was also extremely well priced compared to elsewhere. You will not be disappointed!

Visited this morning to get breakfast for the family. The food was delicious and very well priced. My son had the pancakes and they added some complimentary granola as he couldn’t decide. All made fresh on site too. Both my wife’s and my breakfast were great and the service was perfect I definitely recommend this place

My wife and I chanced upon Tara's Tea Rooms on a visit to Cork on Saturday November 19th. Having been unimpressed with a few of the restaurants that we visited and it being a wet afternoon, we then discovered this little gem . What a warm, quaint and cosy restaurant it was. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was freshly prepared and delicious. Their prices were very reasonable. We have two children( young adults) studying in Cork for the past number of years and neither had heard about it After our visit they will be spreading the news amongst their friends. We can't wait to go back on our next visit to Cork. By the way it's situated 5 minutes from Patrick St, on McCurtain Street. Be sure and drop by and I promise that you won't be disappointed.

The customer service was subpar at best. I had requested brown bread with my sandwich and given white, when I pointed out this mistake I was met with rude, unprofessional and unprovoked behaviour by who I believe to be the manager. Before this had even happened he was very unwelcoming as taking our order. Food was lovely but would not recommend for the customer service, staff might need a refresh.

Great coffee in a beautifully crafted tea shop. We loved the eclectic crockery and cosy bake off decor. Really friendly service and the food is exactly what you dream of. Chunky slices of toast crispy bacon luscious glossy scrambled eggs. The home made cakes are drool worthy can’t wait to come back for tea.

Firstly the setting and decor of the place is so adorable it had a true oldie world classic tea room feel. Secondly the staff were very attentive and friendly. We stopped by for breakfast with my partner having the full Irish and I had the eggs royale. Partner wasn’t particularly keen on his - it doesn’t list what’s on the breakfast so he was surprised there were no beans so he found the breakfast to be quite dry and the bacon was tough and dry. My breakfast was alright but over peppered, so wasn’t really quite to my taste. There was also an overwhelming artificial scent in there too which was a little off putting for a food establishment. I’d have liked to have given it more stars and perhaps we’d try it again for more lunch/cake as opposed to breakfast next time

Came here for a bite to eat as was highly recommended to me. The menu had various different options for sandwiches and paninis which were lovely. I had a gorgeous ginger and berry crumble for dessert and a pot of tea. The staff were efficient and polite, the atmosphere was lovely and the decor was cute. The price was very reasonable for quality food! Also glad to see the staff taking precautions for covid under the current situation. Highly recommend!
