After not being able to get into a very crowded restaurant down the street, we meandered into the Poet's Corner. The owner bent over backwards to get the 5 of us seated in less than 10 mins. The server was on the spot with drinks and taking our order. Food was phenomenal and reasonable as well.

Terrific atmosphere, wonderful food. Two talented musicians playing traditional Irish music. Fun crowd.

This place is always packed, with locals and with hotel guests...for a reason. The food is delicious, the service is attentive and the bartender offers a taste if there is something you haven't tried. Even walking in to a packed house on a Friday, within a reasonable amount of time we were at a table and eating. The staff never... More

Sunday night The Poet's Corner was busy, seats & tables were hard to come by as the musicians were gobbling up the stools. The traditional music was lively and delightful to my ears. A harpist, several fiddlers, a mini accordion all playing with gusto, as the crowd listened intently. I was the only one dancing to the happy sounds. Drinking... More

We stopped in a couple times to Poets Corner and had a fine time. The place was busy but the bartenders managed to serve everyone and keep a sense of humor. (Even filling a child's "sippy cup"--with milk! ) When we wanted to taste some whiskeys we got knowledgeable suggestions from staff. Lots of fun sitting at the bar!

This is a busy bar and restaurant attached to The Old Ground Hotel. The menu is straightforward, we had fish and chips, burger and chips and sausages and mash. We all thought the food was very good and reasonably priced. Around 9 o'clock a few musicians played traditional Irish music.

I was a bit surprised by how upscale this place is for a pub, but I still had a good time. They have a good whiskey selection and comfy booth seats. Even though it was busy we had no real issue with service. The food came quickly and was good. I ordered the stuffed chicken special but there wasn't any... More

Fun night after dinner - lively Irish musicians while we enjoyed our drinks and conversations. Lived up to all the great reviews we had read about this pub!

The Old Ground Hotel was our least "favorite" stay in Ireland. But the adjoining bar was fabulous. A great whiskey menu and knowledge staff. We were there on a night without music, but was guests of the hotel it was perfect. After a walk about to see some different pubs that had music, we visited the bar later on and... More

This seems to be the place to be for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed the perfect pours, great fish and soups specials. Very crowded but everyone is friendly and helpful.
