Great place to stop for a coffee and a chat with the locals. Get there early enough and you will so much if the right people are there at the time.

Difficult to find anywhere pleasant to eat in Nairn - the old town, though handsome, feels down on its luck, and it's only among the refurbed fishermen's cottages and posh-ish new flats by the harbour that prosperity seems to linger. This place is symptomatic: ten minutes' walk from the town centre, it overlooks the yacht basin and the sea-front, and... More

Best bacon & eggs I've ever eaten. We visited whilst on holiday. Was spectacularly good food. Delicious bacon & eggs...did I mention that? Visit this cafe. Cones are pretty good too...

One of us lucked out -- the Cullen Skink was magnificent. One of us didn't -- the Spiced Carrot soup was not to her taste, at all. And she's a very good cook! Inside seating was snug and the room was very noisy. Advice -- go on a nice day, sit outside and order the Cullen Skink.

Basil's is a small cafe right next to the harbour in Nairn. It gets very busy at lunchtime, so come early if you want a seat. There is excellent home made soup, a wide variety of sandwiches with some creative fillings, huge slabs of home-made cake and high quality ice-cream. We had Cullen Skink ( smoked fish soup), fish and... More

We visited the Basil Harbour Cafe a couple of times with our young son during a holiday in Nairn. We had lunch one day which was lovely. There is a good selection on the menu but not too much as the food is made fresh. On our second visit we had breakfast which we thought was excellent. There is a... More

Drove passed at lunch time and decided to drop in for a bite. The food was brilliant and service friendly.
