Good food at a reasonable price. They had a good selection of ales, again at a reasonable price. Seems well supported.

We came here for an evening meal after hearing great review. Sat in the bar for dinner (wasn't aware of the restaurant until we left). Staff were all very nice, however the food was poor. I ordered the cajun chicken goujons, which were almost teeth breaking with the rock solid batter, and couldnt taste the cajun in them at all.... More

I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing experience and will certainly pass your comments to the Head Chef. You might find the restaurant environment and restaurant menu specials more to your taste. Hopefully, you will be kind enough to give us another opportunity. More

The place was mostly empty when we came in. We had been sitting for 5 or more minutes before anyone came to the table to take our drink orders. I thought prep time for the food was very long. Most of the food was good and reasonably priced. One person in our party got the Venison burger and said it... More

I'm pleased you found the food good value and take on board your comments about service. You were correct to urge your friend to tell us about issues at the time. We would much rather have an opportunity to immediately correct it than a negative comment later. More

We ate in the bar and had steaks. It was the best steak I have eaten in a long time. Well presented on a hot platter with just enough chips, tomatoes and mushrooms! The staff were friendly and attentive without being 'over the top'. Next time I think I would book a table in the restaurant as it would be... More

BUT, if you are in need of a place to stay, esp. after 12 hours on the road and everything in Inverness is booked, these people will take you in! And you will love it. If you like funky old school charm, floors that are uneven, and great people. I'm not knocking the place. As a hotel,it's got everything you'd... More

Intended eating out in Nairn on our recent two night stay but instead ate in The Havelock. There is a formal restaurant which looked pleasant, but quiet. We chose to eat in the lounge/bar area. First night we had Lasagne and garlic bread; lamb shank with mash and veg. followed by cheesecake to share. On the second night wed had... More

We dropped in for a drink at lunch time during a 2 day break in Nairn and decided to share one of their pizzas. It was obviously freshly baked, surpassed our expectations and was as good as we have had in many an Italian restauarants. The new owners have transformed the menu and if the rest of the food is... We had time to kill before going to the airport, we have only driven through Nairn and due to its close proximity to the airport we stopped off here for lunch. We were made very welcome and good family pub and the food was excellent and value for money. The beach was just across the road, hopefully if we return... More

On a recommendation we visited with another couple. Restaurant was quite busy but took the staff a long time to take our drinks order. We were contemplating leaving at one point.

It's a good idea to book for the restaurant on a Friday and Saturday night as we can get very busy at peak times, slowing down service. But booking in advance ensures you of priority service. I hope it won't put you off another visit. More

Refurbished and relaunched by a local man it has achieved a popular local trade for a reasonable price. The rooms are basic but all you need and the price reflects this . Plenty of parking and when the Nairn games are on it is the place to be . It also has the biggest beer festival in Scotland once a... More

Description
The Havelock restaurant décor with it's terracotta colour scheme and tiffany lighting has a warm and welcoming feel. The restaurant serves a la carte British dishes cooked to order using local seasonal produce. The addition of quality bar food - "Slider" burgers, Mexican fajitas and steak sizzle platters - means there is something to tempt all tastes and age groups.
