Run-down hotel, desperately in need of refurbishment, with staff trying hard. The hotel has obviously suffered from the decrease in the train schedules over the years and is now fighting for business. We had lunch in the restaurant, where most of the few diners were foreign visitors. The haddock and chips were exactly as described by another reviewer: fresh, sweet... More

First stop on our way from Skye to Glasgow. Very friendly staff welcomed us, answered questions and gave us local information. Dinner and breakfast were quite good and the coffee was excellent. There was a temporary problem with the internet in the rooms but worked well in the lobby and dinning rooms. Definitely recommend for others.

Kyle of Lochalsh has a good restaurant but this was closed on Monday evenings so we tried the best of the rest. The food was plentiful but not of a high standard but it was good pub food. a good alternative place to eat.

We ordered coffee for two which came with two packets of shortbread biscuits and all for £5.00. The staff were friendly. It was a shame to see how tired and out of date the fixtures were. If there was some update done area by area people could see that the heart was being put back into this prime location hotel!

This is an older hotel and restaurant that probably has a wonderful history and catered to high society at one time. We just stumbled upon it after arriving into town and wanting a late dinner. Weather was windy and rainy and only one other couple was in the small dining room that had a great panoramic view of the bay...and... More

We visited the Kyle of Lochalsh on 12 April 2016. The scenery and setting was magnificent. This, however, is all that the town has to offer. We eventually found one of the 2 places open to eat lunch. The conservatory we werre taken to for food was tired and boring and looked very unloved. The food was extortionately expensive for... More

I stayed over on a trip to Plockton and Portree. Although i visited in the winter season the food was excellent and bar service was excellent and very good.

Exterior looked dismal..service was non existant but mood lifted as soon as we tasted our food.. Mushroom soup was a proper hearty heat up on this cold night.. Fish and steak pie were delicious!!!! Filling us to max n hardly denting the purse ...chef is a godsend !! Staff need to tidy up themselves and focus on customer service!

We only had drinks here but to be honest it is very tired and in desperate need of refurbishment. Looks more like an old peoples home than a hotel

We often stop here on nice days to have a few drinks at the tables outside and admire what must be one of the world's great views. They could do so much more to take advantage of this. I know the weather often doesn't permit sitting outside but many people would take a little cold and wind to sit there.... More
