Although I was a solo diner I was served in a professional way . Normally when I go out I'm stuck in a corner in a tiny table ,but here I was given a good sized table . The staff were friendly and knowledgeable with the menu . A great dining experience. Well done everyone

Wonderful location on the banks of the loch, the food was all up to high standards (we had the lobster and the steak), a fitting and welcome end to a hike (either the west highland way or the great glen way) or a climb of Ben Nevis...

The food was fresh and menu is small and if you go here you must order a fish dish! We were really pleased that we chose to come here. But you must... More

The Crannog is an experience not to be missed if you are in Fort William. The fish and shellfish are fresh, sensitively prepared, well presented and appropriately garnished. The service is friendly, attentive and personal and the ambience is such that you feel that you are a friend, rather than a customer or client. The experience is to be highly... More

Delicious lunch, we had the seafood platter and the Spanish Sauvignon Blanc. Thank goodness they had room for us as so much of Fort William is deep fried pre-made pub food!

Sorry, but Fort William is not blessed with much to get excited about for eating and drinking. The Crannog is the exception. This relaxed environment overlooking the loch dispenses excellent seafood - our choice was oysters - superb (no r in the month is a myth), a pan fried Shetland salmon fillet with crab potato cake and a leek and... Managed to get a table for two at lunchtime in between tour parties and found the service fantastic which just so complemented the great food accompanied by a super white rioja. Great views over the Loch. Staff very friendly
