Everything was nice enough and with a few improvements could be the perfect restaurant. The goats cheese amuse bouche was light tasty and refreshing. The bread rolls were a bit stodgy and doughy. 3 of us had highland cannelloni which was lovely but 2 of us had a small bit of crab shell each in it which was disappointing and... More

I was really impressed with this venue for the size of the town. They are truly innovative and striving to please. I liked the modern , arty décor and pleasant service. We were treated to an amuse bouche of venison haggis ball - very tasty. THen I had small cheese course - nice selection of cheese from which to choose... More

Rooms were ok. After our 1st night, the rooms were made up but shampoo wasn't filled. After our 2nd night, all of the shampoo, conditioner, shower liquids as well as all the towels were gone!!! Staff were friendly. Breakfast menu were the same but tasted different because of the different chefs each day. So that was about weird. Dinner was... More

Nearly didn't eat here after reading one of the reviews which slated the service - don't know what went wrong on their visit but ours could not have been more different. The food was superb, the selection of wines excellent and the service was attentive & friendly without being intrusive, a thoroughly delightful experience!

We had a memorable meal at the Bay Tree. Whilst the gallery was being redone, the restaurant has feature stained glass and stunning paintings. The veggie options were outstanding and different from anything we had ever had. Veggie haggis was fantastic, but the Creole aubergine was stunning. Beautifully composed on the plate and a thoughtful combination of flavours and textures.... More

We stayed at the inn for two nights, had dinner once and breakfast twice. The food was good, decent wines and breakfast is very nice as well. The inn also exhibits some nice artwork which creates a pleasant atmosphere.

Interesting food, and a pleasant interior, a world away from Fort Williams' more rugged hostelries. We were looking forward to a fine dining experience and had booked a table for a birthday celebration to coincide with our visit to the area. From our arrival, the service was slapdash at best. We arrived in good time, close to the start of... More

We booked a table for dinner on Sunday night. I think it's worth booking here to avoid disappointment . The choice of cocktails , Wine . and local Beer was excellent. They had a limited vegetarian choice but the of the food was excellent. My wife really enjoyed both her vegetarian haggis starter and also her main course. I had... More

Description
The food philosophy at the Lime Tree is that dishes are made here from fresh, seasonal, locally sourced raw ingredients, then made into something special by our skilled innovative Chef team

'The Lime Tree Restaurant style is one we have come to know as Fiddly Posh Scottish: Lamb with a family tree, duck that went to Gordonstoun, fish that kept its nose clean. All this technically superb, and while served in a part of the country not blessed with an abundance of fine dining, nonetheless worthy of comparison with the cities best. Fort William finally has a heavy-weight culinary destination.'
