While not cheap you pay for what you get in that food is top rate (venison was perfect)and very tasty, definitely one of the best places to eat in fort william but over five pounds for a bottle of beers is a bit steep.

Highly recommend this place for dinner. It was well worth 65 GBP. The salmon cannalonni stuffed with carb was excellent. My hake with a light cream sauce was outstanding as was my wife's trout. The service was efficient and not chatty. Located in a lovely hotel, the atmosphere was charming. Enjoy!

Our last night in Fort William took us to the Lime Tree restaurant/gallery. A bit different this venue as I would class it more in the 'fine dining' category. The food was excellent with both the pheasant and venison being excellently cooked and presented (albeit another potato would have been nice). The cheese board was very good with a nice... More

As others have stated this was by far the best meal we had in Scotland. I had pheasant and my friend had venison. The preparation was perfect and presentation beautiful. We shared an appetizer (the canneloni) which was quite good. The waitstaff was inobtrusive and well versed in the cuisine. A wonderful evening.

A large group of us met for dinner at the Lime Tree. The food, drinks and service were great. They even entertained our request for a drink they didn't know how to make...and did an admirable job of making a good Negroni!

We were recommended this restaurant as an example of good local food and fine cuisine. Delicious and well presented food with some good wines. We would definitely recommend and go back if we visit Fort William again.

Lime tree was one of our best meals we had in Scotland. We had for starters the duck and the cannelloni and for mains we had the rabbit and the pork. Every morsel was yummy and beautifully presented. I had the snow eggs and my wife had the creme caramel for dessert, she said it was one of the best... More

Upon first walking in, the decor we loved. Unique and a bit artsy - would suggest ambiance as nice place for romantic dinner (a bit dark, not too many tables so not noisy, well decorated but simple). However the food left us highly disappointed. Bread basket: rockhard, reheated old bread - inedible. Starters: I had the partially baked oysters- too... More

The food philosophy at the Lime Tree is that dishes are made here from fresh, seasonal, locally sourced raw ingredients, then made into something special by our skilled innovative Chef team

'The Lime Tree Restaurant style is one we have come to know as Fiddly Posh Scottish: Lamb with a family tree, duck that went to Gordonstoun, fish that kept its nose clean. All this technically superb, and while served in a part of the country not blessed with an abundance of fine dining, nonetheless worthy of comparison with the cities best. Fort William finally has a heavy-weight culinary destination.'
