Stopped after visiting Cawdor castle. Great pub, welcoming atmosphere, attentive staff. Enjoyed the Scottish cheese platter, beers and a game of pool. Great afternoon stop.

Positioned opposite the Castle entrance, The Castle Tavern is ideally situated for convenient access to the city centre, literally minutes away, as well as being an ideal meeting place for events such as The Inverness Tattoo or The Highland Games. For that matter, its also the ideal place to end your evening too. Highly commended! The tantalising aroma of freshly... More

Fish was soggy with batter and chips were undercooked. The service was slow and seemed unorganized. Will not be coming back.

The view was spectacular and the food was tasty and filling. I had the beef and mushroom pie and the hubs had the burger. The burger was nothing special, but the pie was sumptuous (so was dessert)... so much so that we went back the next night. The wait staff is friendly, even when rushed!

We have been to the pub twice, enjoying local ales which are excellent. Most exciting are 2 things: the beautiful terrace with a fantastic view on the castle and the heaters which keeps you still warm in the chilly Scottish nights.

We finished the Great Glen Way next to the tavern and staggered into the forecourt. The staff were very welcoming, even offering our dog a bowl of water and asking if we needed anything. The food was excellent and the fish was fresh. The tavern offers certificates to walkers who have completed the walk so don't forget to ask for... More

We went there since it was mentioned in the travel guide. The view and the spot were great. We ordered typical pub food (burger and lasagne). The burger tasted like the ones in the supermarket. Unfortunately, the burger consisted nearly only of bread and meet. Salad, onions, eventually cheese and a significant sauce were missing. Instead of serving lasagne, a... More

Nice pub with good ale. The food is of good quality; I had haggis and my girlfriend had fish cakes. They were lovely but the portions were very small for the price. Come here for a light bite not a hearty meal

After having a look at some pretty mixed reviews of this place I thought it was worth a shot at least. Boy was I mistaken! The view is lovely and the selection of real ales is fine enough as long as you know what you are looking for as the staff that were on did not seem very knowledgeable on... More
