I looked through the guide to find a restaurant in Inverness that was a bit different than those large harsh style with a themed restaurants, who sell everything from a Burger to chicken wings in a sauce. I found this Gem of a restaurant. Small on the river. We reserved a table. We arrived a little late. The service in... More

We had dinner here, during a short break to Inverness. The restaurant only seats around thirty. It was almost full when we got there. The staff were very attentive. The food was delicious. I chose it because it used local ingredients. My husband had king scallops with black pudding, for starters and lemon sole for his main. I had a... More

Small restaurant on the river. We parked in the garage as recommended and had a short walk to the restaurant. Ordered the Sea Bass and a steak. Both were excellent. The homemade bread was scrumptious. The wine is reasonably priced and good value. The restaurant is small and we suggest reserving in advance.

Managed to get in for an early dinner, and last few tables soon filled so booking recommended. I started with the Haggis which was a clever variant on the classic dish with potato croquets and turnip pure. I then had the halibut with shellfish and pasta, whilst my wife had the chicken. The request for a different sauce to the... More

Our best dining experience in Inverness. The food was superb. Lots of classic dishes with modern touches, locally sourced food including game. We really loved the cheese plate for dessert. They had a fair wine list and a nice whiskey list. It is very small so if you want to go during summer, you should book your table in advance.... More

Our dinner experience was so excellent that words can not adequately describe it. Everything related to dinner was top drawer. Service was caring and personal. The food was perfectly prepared and presented. The taste of the items was succulent, moist, and bursting with flavor. Menu items were presented beautifully. What a wonderful place to visit and eat.

Stopped over in Inverness for a Friday night and couldn't get into the Rocpool. Friends recommended this cafe which turned out to be small but friendly Scottish Restaurant. Halibut and Steak were good, the pasta with the halibut was ordinary but sea food(muscles, clams and king prawns were excellent). Well priced and good wines - not over fancy and lots... More

We stopped for lunch at this restaurant next to the River Ness. The food was delicious (risotto, burger and sticky toffee pudding to finish). The staff were friendly and the meal was very reasonably priced. The views of the river from our table created a lovely atmosphere! We would definitely recommend this restaurant!

Booked this lovely little restaurant for an evening meal. It was busy for a Thursday with people being turned away so was glad I booked. Food was excellent and all home cooked to perfection. Every course was well presented and very tasty. Have to also give a mention to friendly staff. You would be foolish not to go here for... More

This place worked for us. It's small, meaning that the tables are a little too close for complete comfort. But ... the food is good quality and creatively prepared, the staff are polite and willing to serve, and the general ambience is conducive to a pleasant and relaxing evening. To pick out two points of detail : the bread was... More
